I added my CR3 to my lineup and brother DM53 is far more effective than the anaemic L27A1.

stronger opposition wouldnt do anything. the bmpt can STILL steamroll an entire team at 12.7 if its played right. its BR performance isnt the issue, the damage model is. if the damage model isnt fixed, it will remain an issue no matter what BR its at

OMG. That’s so sweet. You also need to know where to hit the side. What if there’s a hill there? Or did you aim a little lower? You understand that the BMPT’s weak points don’t change the fact that it’s a OP.
The reason people struggle against it is because they can’t fathom the idea of letting it push you or just pushing really fast and catch them off guard, BMPT players (or russian mains in general) are the most careless people on earth and will presume that you’re the average nervous wreck that’ll go for their driver’s port, if they’re hull down? Yeah you can’t do anything and that’s the only issue of the BMPT that needs to be addressed via the “external” ammo belt. there’s a 100% chance you kill it via LFP or lower middle side shot, and in most situations those weak spots are already visible + easy to hit. I’ve been playing Germany/China 11.0-13.0 for the past 2 months and the only issue I have with the BMPT is that there’s not enough of them to kill.

It’s not OP, People die to it by crapping their pants whenever they encounter it and shooting all over the place trying to kill it, if you take a moment to aim it’s almost impossible not to kill it unless you get a funny desync moment

In that moment you’ve taken to aim, your cannon barrel has been destroyed - or you’ve fired a shot, penetrated and done hardly any damage, given your position away… and your barrel is destroyed
They’re easy to kill if the driver is brain dead driving in the open, anyone with half a brain will hide the lower plate - now you’re aiming for a pixel sized weakspot at the front hoping volumetric nonsense doesnt send your shell to the shadow realm - even then the 5 crew one can probably fire back - and destroy your barrel
They highlights the very stupid barrel sniping meta which I hate more than anything in Ground forces, but thats another discussion
As a bit of a CAS enjoyer myself they are ALWAYS a prime target no matter whats around them, could be a pantsir for what i care im still shooting a ATGM at it

That’s disingenuous mate, it’s not invincible but it has a damage model that is beyond broken lol, I’ve killed more than enough BMPTs and 72s but to act like it’s not broken and not functioning correctly is just wrong.
hint, don’t force a fight with them, let them come to you as it leaves them in the open.
It’s more the fact the damage the autocannons do is too much because of how many roudns they fire at one time and barrels just melt.

The BMPT is most problematic when its sat on an objective or a choke point, points are ticking down etc
Your advice is to just, do nothing?
Or the awful scenario of having one abusing ground forces god awful spawns - sat with its turret poking over a hill into your spawn, now what? any other vehicle you use your spawn protection to disable them and push out
Good luck disabling a BMPT enough to try make a difference
The BMPT is toxic in a vacuum, nevermind when you consider what nation its a part of - I’ve said it a few times now, the most powerful thing it can and does do is be such a distraction that the rest of its team can do whatever the hell they want

There’s seems to be this common talking point ‘muh skill issue, just aim here’,
This statement can be applied to almost any Russian vehicle - I’m sure most have killed them when they’re trundling along in the open (insert comment about German mains playing Tigers)
If the BMPT player engages their frontal lobe, they’re a nightmare because they can return fire pretty much regardless of what you hit them with while a small elevation of terrain provides cover for their weakspots - the fact they can pretty much sit in one spot and be unkillable is what throws matches in their favour
The entire turret should be considerably more susceptible to rounds hitting it, its volumetric nonsense that either eats darts of they pass right through - or if you yeet a HESH at it, it does nothing
Even if the ammo is modelled correctly and is no longer bluetooth, good luck hitting a 30mm wide strip at a kilometre
Maybe the missiles should explode like they do on other tanks/spaa… but I honestly don’t know enough to comment on that
I might start bringing the AS90 in to battles to lob HE at them, see what happens
My advice is to not push it frontally which is quite easily done in these games. As well as that, allow it to push out from objectives itself, as they often do, or bait it out. Yes the vehicles model is broken like I said, it’s not indestructible.
- 1 learn to use explosive rounds E.G HESH or HE
- secondly, if you’re pushed into that position it’s not gonna matter if it’s a BMPT, Abrams, Leoopard 2A7 or whatever. You’re done for.
I’ve had moderate to good success with lobbing HE or Proxy rounds at thier turrets, sure they can repair but it mitages the onsaught somewhat.
The nation is sidefact, the thing being this broken is what is the main issue.
The ammo belts being apart on the BMPT but not the naimer for example.
Works for me just fine mate, bait them out and make them push. Or push flanks around them.
That’s just people being people mate, but I’m giving you genuine options which can help manage dealing wth the BMPt.
