It’s a game of chance vs skill at that point. Still completely unbalanced when you can hid your turret and the chances of missing it are very high. On top of that you can spray 30mm shots blinding and destroying your opponent before they can find that one pixel. It’s so good I got bored playing it, it realistically cannot be balanced in this game, even if they reworked it. Also I’ve seen a lot of players still playing 10.7 or less compared to anything top tier russia queues have.
Needs to be completely stripped of ERA and killable by HE rounds which even then most nations don’t have.
At least the belt fix would open it up to some counterplay, im not saying its particularly easy to directly hit the belts but it would mean a weakness and thats something the BMPT desperately needs.
This whole debacle is becoming pretty laughable. Months have passed, hundreds of post complaining, and the official topic approaches 10,000 replies. Seriously! We are getting close to a Part 2 to this topic! Actually, has that ever happened with any other official vehicle topic?
The BR of the BMPT/72 is pretty irrelevant at this point. The model needs some serious changes including reworked ERA and removal of the ammo crates. The accuracy of the guns is also simply absurd. They can melt my barrel in less than a second from range. Yet, despite real world footage, they leave the guns alone. I mean come one! What kinda fantasy world is this game becoming? Denying absolutely provable bugs so they can live in a Russian fantasy world?
Kinda laughable at this point. I know there are worse dev-teams than Gaijin but, man, they are pushing it. Just balance the frikin thing! It has me playing mostly low-tier just so I don’t lose my sanity…
I had a 10.7 match that ended in ~5mins! Terminators holding W, sitting behind rocks, and spawn camping; unkillable. Seriously Gaijin: prove to me that that is balanced.
“If you hit that one belt from 300 meters away you will kill the bmpt.” that’s sheer luck and gambling not even a weakness. That’s like hitting a helicopter with a proxy round while they have distance and LWS to warn them it’s coming. Again, it simply cannot be in the game. I’m convinced it’s not even a stats problem, it’s so dame good at 12.7 it’s boring.
I respectfully disagree there, i think that change can absolutely be the difference between an unbalancable vehicle and one that fits into the game. You have to factor in that fixing the belt in such a way opens up other ways to deal with it despite hitting the belt with a dart. Itll be vulnerable against HE, Spikes will more reliably kill it CAS will do more damage. There are levels to this, not every vehicle needs to be good against every vehicle but a tank needs counters and some form of weakness otherwise balancing is impossible
I’m hiding behind a rock or some foliage, or worse a forest. You have 1 sec to shoot that one luck ammo belt at 200 meters that is now linked together. 100% still busted and broken not even that I still have 5 crew that switch spots while that tank is on fire. You’re not going to make that shot cause if I see you, you’re already dead.
Note: This is ONE BMPT, if you have 2 or more you are 100% going to lose the game if they have 1 braincell working. It’s that easy
I always killed a 2A6 with a HE shell, aiming just to the left of the optical designator. And I took out the entire tank head-on. So no, it’s really a skill issue.
No the crew would be giga dead if they fixed the belt, because the entire ammo reserve blows up. Im not saying its an easy shot but its high risk high reward.
Ok cool but what exactly does that have to do with the broken BMPT damage model?
Tbh I have lost any hope in hesh after I failed to kill osa with 4 105mm hesh rounds. Just did them tire replacement and damaged radar/electronics. Crew just "Nah Id win"ed hull hits. Really makes me miss regular he rounds.
3of26 or german/sweden/israeli 120mm he would at least wreck bmpt guns and missiles.
Oh no second BMPT shows up. You’re immobilized and on fire cause that’s always the trade off majority of encounters with BMPTs but your got tier level aim of hitting that tiniest pixel at 200 meters showed it was all skill and not luck or gambling at all. Final boss, finishes you off, then your teammates, camps hull down on objective or worse. Spawn camps hull down wiping out the rest “ggs ez clap” in the chat from me game over.

I really dont know what youre trying to argue here, they arent going to remove their favourite vehicle and the belt fix along some damage model tweaks in the turret is the only way to somehow balance the thing.
