This is not just a BMPT issue; it’s an overall problem with autocannon vehicles. It’s simply garbage gameplay added to the game, any vehicle with a fast cannon can destroy your gun. You can barely see the direction, and the rest is history. The BMPT is just pure cancer. It’s almost humorous to see all those vehicles destroying M2s and A7s, or any top BR tanks, without any issues frontally.
Prob most boring experience I ever had recently. Its just I drive, I do some kills, I facetank some absurd hits and I die. Seems like “tank support vehicle” (as name implies) is better headliner than every soviet tank. Survivability is rather busted and even after you get set on fire, you just lose few rounds and erase guy who thought that hitting ammo in this realistic game means something and decided to rush to you. Either way, not going to play it until I get mig27k, jet which includes actual gameplay unlike bmpt.

Should not forget that the side relikt will provide 250mm+ protection for multiple shots when it should be depleted if it provides significant KE protection against a shot. If the ERA doesn’t go boom then it’s nothing more than HHA spaced armor. Gaijin doesn’t want to model that though.
The second 90° shot at the same impacted ERA disappear like nothing happened. Can anyone explain?
in my games usually its USSR (plus maybe a minor country) which plays against all of the nations
thats true, but also there is exploding fuel tanks, and its crampness and crew amount leads to each weakspot being oneshot
with them USSR MBTss its always something. Even hull-down its mask and turret roof that usually destroys breech and has a chance to 1) oneshot tank as can damage two crew members 2) destroy breech and potentially destroy the autoloader 3) do nuthing as warthunder happends.
Abrams strong because fast + decent to OP shell + survivable
yes, because its called survivability. Tanking is about KV-1B or Churchill 7, them MBTs arent about tanking. Yet the ability to get crippled, but not killed, and get away to repair is a nice trait that prevents otherwise guarantee respawn in several situations…
uh… it quite is?
Cognitive in WT may be the second after pure knowledge of enemy machinery, that player has to have.
Its different with some competitive games sure, as time-to-kill in WT gets close to oneshot. But surveying and noticing is one of the most important skills players have to have.
I get what you mean, and im pretty sure you`re right with it to some extent. War Thunder Moment is one great factor when you play. But as much as it is, it is as inconsistent. So you cant just say “Abrams does not survive” because it happends to get oneshotted once in a while. Same as you cant say “BMPT doest get oneshotted”.
no shit, war thunder i played in 2019 and now are hugely different. The difference tho only makes it worse. Less FPS, harder server calculations leading to stupidity like 30mm APHE penetrating the MAUS. And the ricochei of the BMPs UFP.
But that also does imply that in 2019 there were no Abrams. No 2a4 and no T-72.
The hell are you on about, those were 2 angled shots by Dm53
And not to burst your bubble, but the Relikt on top of the additional layer of Relikt is supposed to have KE protection, it’s the same type used everywhere else on the tank. Gaijin just decided not to model it, probably because it would frustrate players, especially since it’s angled. It did not get deflected, it got destabilized.
Ether way, those were both angled shots, the second shot had to eat through more armor from that angle so it should be no surprise it did not penetrate.
Remember that video with the Bradley and T-90 everyone keeps yapping about?
Why should it surprise anyone that any vehicle with an autocannon that catches a tank off guard can overpower it with just sheer firepower.
The BMPT just has the benifit of having tank armor, so if a tank fires and doesn’t disable it. It can respond with volume of fire that can severely immobilize the tank.
The only thing thats annoying players is that it has armor. And everyone has this mindset where “If it has autocannon, armor has too be weak” it’s not always going to be like that as tech advances.
It wouldn’t matter if autocannons in game got dispersion added and other factors. Volume of fire will almost always win out any engagement.
It disappeared because the round was completely destabilized and did no other significant damage based on the games calculations. The game isn’t going to fully simulate the rod being eaten away like in some videos on youtube, so in some shots you’re going to see a full rod intact even though it’d be heavily degraded. Perception and the limitations of the game engine
When will Gaijin admit there is a current imbalance of ground USSR at and around the 11.3 BR?
Since the BMPT dropped, almost every game is majority 2S38, BMPTs and T-80UD or T-72s.
Obviously this can be relatively mitigated by learning the weak spots, but it seems like 90% of the games anymore are seal-clubbing by the USSR team……
What could even be done to balance these tanks out? Spread them out in BR more?
Also, what can be done to fix how poorly the layout is for the bottom team spawn on the Winter Ardennes map
yes
in fact a lot of balancing issues could be fixed with br decompression
Oh really? What would encourage the devs to decompress the BRs more?
Is there any reason they would avoid decompressing the BRs
the official stance is “it would increase queue times and we dont want that”
idk man, the last few updates they’ve been making it worse
placing the new premiums at favourable BR’s certainly raises an eyebrow
my crazy conspiracy theory
its MONEY, they make MONEY out of making the premium vehicles either dominate the BR range
by keeping the game compressed and unbalanced they strive to guide a frustrated player towards buying a premium vehicle that is strong/dominant
…but thats just a schizotheory of mine
stopped playing anything that can remotely tough 11.3, flooded with BMPT’s.
luckily have still enough 9,0-7 tanks to spade.
All 10 tech trees would move up equally to Soviet vehicles, all the way down to 2.7 where the rest of the primary compression is.
USA 11.3 however is OP.
well learn to play then, if you dont want to get seal clubbed by one of the worst grounds ingame
total map reconstruction. This map doesnt belong to anything farther than 4.7 as it makes it stupidly easy to camp the spawns
That’s intresting, nice to know IPM is op :D :D :D
Yes there is merkava, what is quite rare and out of reach of most players.
Tell him to learn how to dodge LMURs—the only heli missile with top-attack in the entire game, even though every other nation with FNF Missiles has that capability in real life. But of course, the Russian one is the ‘golden child,’ right? Sure, and tell him to ‘just dodge’ those fantasy-world Kh-38MTs too that don’t even exist in real life once he hits Top Tier.
Tell him to learn how to dodge LMURs
his problem isnt with LMURS, but with
Since the BMPT dropped, almost every game is majority 2S38, BMPTs and T-80UD or T-72s.
so there`s no need for that.
Sure, and tell him to ‘just dodge’ those fantasy-world Kh-38MTs
Yes, “just dodge” or “just move near trees and houses” is what i was told when i said AGM65s are OP as every NATO nation plane carries 4+ of them, so they basically spam them. So same logic applies here i suppose.
