Its not Russian bias its purposely keeping the BMPT’s in current state in order to milk people more.
Its a deliberate choice made by Gaijin, has nothing to do with bias.

Exactly, and its the same as with most OP vehicles before being nerfed. Its in a similar vein to the T58; its still undertiered and hasn’t been nerfed despite being in game for as long as the BMPT’s…

I also hate how they keeping T58 in its current state at its br tho since I’m not playing anything but top tier its not up to me talk about that abomination but one thing for sure T58 is also quite busted.

No one cares about the armaments, its the incredibly stupid damage model that makes it problematic
I’ve been playing more and more 11.3 after leaving toptier after the update of the BMPT invasion, because I was just loosing my mind.
And yet now, BMPT is still 1.3 BR under the T-80BVM.
And I still am waiting for an answer why.
1. Front armor
This is a unmaned turret of a T-90M or T80BVM, with spall liners everywhere, even behinf the “turret”. Almost impossible to take out the fire system, since he has 2 of the tinniest breech in the game, plus 4 missiles on 2 different launchers, all around the turret.
And you can aim to disable both 30mm, you can’t ! This happens VERY often, if you don’t take out a single one of them.
You can shoot the amo trough the turret, they will burn but since there are 2 guns (even tho the 2 belt are litteraly against each other in the cheek ??!!, how funny is that devs ? and btw, I’m doing a degree in fluid mecanics, I will do my joy to show you that even if there is a metal sheet between the 2 belt it won’t hold the INSANE T° of burning those.)

This shows that if the barrier between those is 3cm, it has to be a an only a 100% mineral/insulating material to prevent the cook off of the second amo rack. Here, all material over and the ceramic are good to prevent this; but I doubt they will make an amo rail in concrete hahaha.
If you ask, I’m sure of my math, even tho I am still at my studies and I might have missed something.
I used the ISO 834 classic fire curb as it is the main we use in civil ingeneering, I think that the amo start burning by themselves at 170°C, T(0) = 20°C, and the cook off is around 900°C hot and used de 1D heat equation. for the one who really want to know.
And you may ask, “what about the electronics that shut down all the shooting devices ?”, well unless you have 460mm of pen and insane luck or more than 600mm of pen and a very good aim at a close range, don’t even think about it !
So frontaly, unless you have a good shot on the LFP and are lucky enough to not get… trolled by a sync bug (Often, my APFSDS just get 5cm higher, and that is not negligible, since the armor there get insaly high in a matter of cm.) You just CANNOT kill this thing with at least in 2 shots. And that 30mm can take out any breech in no more than 4 hits of his 30mm (550 shots/min → 9.16/sec → .43 sec for 4 shots), it is not even the time you have to peek, realise where he is, aim and shoot.
2. Side armor
For the side :
I will speak about the PREMIUM variant, the BMPT-72. So please keep in mind that the tech-tree variant has 2 more crew members in the front of the hull, making it not killable by a CREW KNOCKED OUT with the spall liners.
The armor on the side is just insane. The Relikt can tank multiple shots from lower caliber guns.
So it is not possible to take it out from this perspective, unless the turret of the BMPT is facing another direction giving you… 4 seoncds if he doesn’t move the hull. Something like 3.2 sec if he does.
For lager caliber with a good APFSDS, you need to be lucky enough to hit one of those :
and keep in mind that the column of shells can be destroyed BY IT’S OWN, and so can not be considered a 1-shot spot.
Here is the comparison with a T-80BVM:
It is actually a way bigger 1-shot spot on the 12.7 variant.
All of this to show that this thing, this BR terminator, this 11.3 shredder, this tank obliterator, this abomination, this… acner of the society has a WAY better survivability than any other tank in game.
And if you think that the reason is his firepower…
Consider quitting. And seek for another form of hobby or employement.
3. What to change ?

First, hitting the amo (not in the hull because it kills the crew for some reason), BOTH feeds should explose, making the BMPT more vulnerable since it cannot shoots any APDS.

Secondly, they did it for the strikers and other unmaned turret, we need more module in the turret that is essencially empty now.

Thirdly, the spalling on the turret should be reworked, so shells don’t just travel across and maybe yellow or orange some parts.

Fourthly (and to finish), move it to 12.7, or something like 12.0 or 12.3 if the 3 points over are implemented.
I am sure that the community will have plenty of ideas for 5, 6 and other points to balance this Vodka-mobile.
That is my little rant of rage against the BMPT’s.
I will be happy (not ironically ) to see what are the valid argument(S ?) to pur this thing at this BR, since I don’t have it in game. So please respond to my article.
Edit : I might put that in a bug report or idk about the BMPT, that’s a hell lot of work for a statement in a reply.

Gaijin is pretty much killing off any player that doesn’t play Russia, the addition of BMPT-72 and BMPT has killed off any fun of playing 10.3+
Their over modelling of NATO vehicles and under modelling of Russian vehicles is rather funny, concept and made up documents of vehicles, making up or pushing one sided content is also a joke.
The current modelling of the BMPT is just a joke, pretty much spam spall liners in every spot they can to make a hull down bunker (wonder where i’ve seen this before, WOT). APFSDS does no internal damage to crew despite pretty much holding hands with each other (maybe watch some videos of what happens to Russian crew members). Top tier is just ruined at the moment with this vehicles, it was the same with the 2s38 when it first came out until they then “correctly” modelled it but not before making sure to drag down everything other light vehicle down with it.
This was also the same with SPAA when the S1 was added, it was broken and over powered the community called for a rework and to balance it or fix the missile, gaijin did fixed and balanced it to a point but not before nerfing and dragging down all other SPAA with it.
In my opinion ground needs a full reword “vehicles of the modern age” need to put correctly at their BR not put at a low BR because they can’t do anything or wipe the enemy team out, light vehicles like Scimitar, fox, wisiel, BTR-80 etc need to be moved up to top tier which is where they should be, they are a “scout” role not a MBT, they are not meant to be good against tanks they are meant to provide an assisting role to tanks. I don’t know why gaijin doesn’t do a rework on the scouting role and make these vehicles useful as support roles, they don’t need to go back to ww2 to be effective against tanks, they were never meant to be good against them in the first place.
For the rework of ground I would now push for 14.0 for all vehicles past the early 2000’s, 10.0 - 11.7 is messed up completely of premiums and vehicles that maybe shouldn’t be there (side eye BMPT).
Its the same old cycle, when something is broken or over powered that is Russian and the community wants it to be fixed so people can enjoy a game, gaijin responds with nerfing what the community wants then nerfs anything that has the same letter or role as it to the ground which the community didn’t ask for.
I know its a free to play game, but gaijin sells products, people like myself have spent tons of money and time on the game, they have a loyal player base, they are currently sucking the fun and enjoyment out of a fun game, they are going down the World of tanks route and only care about big funny number going up in their accounts. I know this is a rant post but its just putting a warning out their, they are just pushing money/profits over actually fixing and making an enjoyable game like the old War Thunder we all love and enjoy.

Like seriously? 2A4 has a rival - T72 TURMS. And pretty much all T-series tanks in the same BR bracket have no issues penetrating 2A4.
The BMPT garbage on the other hand has no real rivals. Nothing compares now in survivability with this BS machine.

I ammo racked him like 3 times but it literally doesn’t matter since that only removes like 12 shells and he has an ammo box. And if someone wonders why i didn’t try HEAT, it’s because the free vehicle mechanic switched them out.

That’s 12.7 DM53 btw. Any other suggestions, besides shooting the hull-down tank that’s surrounded by teammates in the engine from the back? You literally have better odds putting your live savings on black than when taking a shot at this thing with the strongest modern ammo in the game.
