Its not even that OP the 2S38 since its sit at a BR bracket it faces 11.3 which its difficult for the 2S38 to even exists
The only thing making it “op” its the fact that if you hit a flank without you getting spotted,you can get like 8 kills easily…but thats legit its just outplaying the enemy with an average IFV
It’s for sure not because of the APDS-FS, it’s because it can fire 4x 1,200mm armor pen tandem charge ATGM’s on the move 😉

The BMD-2M is for sure better than the BMD’s. A huge difference is the BMP-2M’s faster firing autocannon is MUCH better at taking out air targets coupled with its IRST, even though all 3x of the BMD’s have IRST too. (And the BMP-3 does not have IRST, thus also lowering its BR potential.)
it’s not conflicting though. It’s a fun vehicle, I like spotting and the thermal drone would help it a lot, and since it’s much better than many other IFVs sitting at 10.0+, it should get a BR penalty increase and get a better drone.
Again, no. This is YOUR desire. Not the majority playerbase desire. I am glad that you are being very honest about your intents and desires, but realistically it’s not going to happen just because you/a few players wish it to have an ability which would negatively affect its BR.
All worse than the russian counter parts,why they have to sit at the same br bracket while unable to do mostly anything while we have the BMDs at the same br bracket being utterly broken?
Mind you,the BMDs are the IFVs people use to speed run nukes with it,if they do…means its broken

I can say that from experience
The Bradleys should be either reworked to make the main cannon stronger since they are so bad it cant even kill a light vehicle sometimes
And the M3A3 sits at 10.0 while legit being worse in every single way that the BMDs that sit at 9.7
Worse gun,worse missiles,youre bigger and fatter,you cant shoot on the move,bad ammo,all this at 10.0 while the russians have way better things at 9.7
And for the IFVs i shown,i checked their stats overall with their mods
Compared to the BMDs,they are legit buns
So its either lower all the other IFVs to a lower br or make the BMDs go up,which IMO should happen

Oh also fwiw, the Strf 9040B does have prox fuses, which is a huge plus against CAS. Again, idk if that really affects your argument, just want to point out anything that improves an IVF’s abilities against CAS.
Anti CAS capabilities of an IFV is a HUGE point for me. The main reason my 10.3 RU Realistic lineup looks like this: (and almost everything can scout, other than the Khriz, though sometimes I consider putting in the BMP-3 instead for another scout. I don’t even have an MBT in there lul.)
Having proxy does not really make an IFV good by all means
Talking tank to tank scenario,most of the IFVs will be more useless than the russian counter parts cause they lack everything the russian have beside the ammo which btw,for the most part they suck cause of damage they do being none

@0RPman hey, I think a possible solution and a much more likely potential change would be to allow other light tanks with drones in your lineup to have thermal drone optics IF your overall lineup is above 10.0+. THAT MIGHT actually be feasible for Gaijin to implement. Still kind of a longshot, but would be possible without adjusting the BR of the BMD’s themselves.
Might have to limit it to something like “only 1 BR lower than 10.0” or something as it wouldn’t really make a lot of sense for a low BR light at like 7.0-8.0 to have a thermal drone. Idk, what BR do drones start again?

OR lowering the threshold for thermal drones down to the range of the BMD’s. Honestly that wouldn’t really bother me too much, and I think the changes to the CAS point system and reduction in scouting cooldown with a drone in the air is pretty well balanced. So, a lower thermal drone threshold doesn’t seem THAT bad, at least imo.

They already made me drastically change my Arcade lineups with the boosting to the 2S38, I would STRONGLY advocate against any change to the BMD’s right now, without corresponding decompression. Also what I think a lot of you guys are not considering is the uptiers that start happening at 10.0+ into the 11.0’s. I keep multiple 9.7 lineups specifically to avoid the 11.0 uptiers.
Being 9.7 = rarely gonna face a good MBT that aint russian
All MBT that you can see at 8.7 to 10.0 have thin paper armor making the BDM easy to pen them frontally
Yeah and the BMD’s “can” be killed with machine guns LOL. They are not uber weapons, they are paper thin and die almost instantly.
