This is getting ridiculous…
The BI is one of the aircraft in game that never should have really been added at all.
If you’re buns with ammo conservation, fuel conservation, speed management, and positioning; you’re feeding someone else’s kill counter and bringing statistics down.
If you’re at least some what adequate with any of the previous topics, you’re hell on Earth to the enemy team, and only overwhelming enemy superior or luck can kill you. In my honest opinion, it’s a very gimmicky aircraft.
If you (the BI) are going against aircraft that know what they’re doing, you can’t really do much. It compresses at 720kph and it’s an easy target when compressed, go figure.
But against players that don’t know what they’re doing? Of course the BI will win. It’s the ultimate skill check.
If you brought it to 7.0, it wouldn’t do very well because even players in jets that don’t really know what they’re doing and their idea of evading is to run away defeats the BI (again, compression speed and top speed). It would be relegated to the unenviable playstyle of 3rd partying in most instances. If you brought it down to 6.3, first off why, and second off it would do too well because of the constant downtiers to 5.3 (poor bastards).
Against jets, it’s a rat plane for 3rd partiers because elsewise the BI can’t catch up to any of the jets it’d face (even the coughing baby He-162 is faster than it). It really never should have been added, and that’s coming from someone who has it.
But because people have wasted time (or more likely, money), maybe as a way to balance it, they make it realistic in the same way that a realistic Me 163 would fly. It would have two options: 100% (on) or 0% (off) and any damage to fuel tanks will cause total loss of the aircraft/pilot due to the incredibly damaging nature of their fuel.
But again, it’s one of the aircraft that never should have been added because of the pendulum. It’s either too lethal in a downtier or too reliant in an uptier.
At 7.0 it’s still unkillable and can roflstomp people during climb phase. It would not be weak. It’s a team game, and BI denies the enemy team any chance of dogfighting or energy climbing. You either stay fast or you die.
The whole game mode of Squadron Battles at this BR revolves around BI being OP.
Big money are circulating there so no one is going to disrupt a goose laying golden eggs.
Yet another reason the warthunder esports scene is taken seriously by literally no one.
Gaijin should REALLY stop putting the BI in these event SL crates.
Yesterday I fought 3 BIs in one match. Of course we lost. There was 1 BI in the other. Thing seems to get more common. But if I ever get it, I’ll just sell it.
Looks like a lot of player are annoyed -
107 likes (so far) for the latest BR increase request:
Edit:
I found a 2nd post regarding the BI (8 likes so far):
You want to bring the BI aircraft to BR 7.3… it is still too low, it must be at least at BR 8.0, the same BR as the Me 163
Mhm - this is not how BR adjustments work.
BR changes with more than 1 step are extremely rare and usually connected to buffs or nerfs of the aircraft. The last 2 BR step change i remember was the Re 2005 going down from 6.0 to 5.3 in parallel to a massive engine power / turn time nerf - 5 or 6 years ago.
A technical BR increase of 2 steps (without changes of the aircraft itself) was a few years ago as an intern mixed up the JP premium 109 E-7 with the German TT 109 E-3 and reduced the BR from 3.0 to 2.3 by accident - and it took ages until gaijin acknowledged their mistake and corrected this.
So if the BI sits currently at 6.7 a request for a BR of 7.3 was technically an equivalent to a heavy insult as it basically just states that the current BR is flat wrong and they have no clue what they are doing. Asking for a BR of 8.0 would be the same as claiming that gaijin would have hired exclusively retarded morons for their BR setting process as they are 4 steps away from reality.
Yes! Bravo! You’ve hit the point! 🎉🎉🎉
To clarify, what you wrote is simply true
Maybe said apocryphal intern got confused by the fact that the Japanese E-7 actually used to be an E-3, albeit in name only.
Well, there are precedents for a technical 4 step BR change, like the British and US cannon Mustangs getting moved from their initial 5.0 rating down to 3.7 (later moving up again to 4.0 in AB). The A7Ms received a similar treatment, only in the other direction.
And let’s not forget that the A2D-1 even went up 7 steps (or 13, if we count its original Dev server placement of 4.7), although only in AB.
👍😎
This looks like a misunderstanding - i was referring to a 4 step change in a single adjustment in Air RB. That BRs changes can happen very fast even for 4 steps or more is not unusual, but in a single adjustment is another story.
I did not track Air AB BRs - your reference to the P-51 Cannonstang looks like AB too - at least in RB it was since 2015 at 3.7.
Have a good one!
It fall in the op but very rare kind of veicles like t18e1, vt12 ,p59a ecc… no one play them so there never will be a nerf brcase no one care like with trash veicles that are in minor naticon like tow, strv103, ecc… no one play them so no change
P-59 currently has very low ammo count and can’t climb. In a sustained turnfight it also might have some serious issues.
It’s a very good vehicle, but it’s nowhere close to BI.
T18E2 is horribly OP, but still manageable. Vs BI you just can’t win.
The British and US Cannonstangs were introduced at 5.0 in both AB and RB in 2012 and 2013, respectively.
I mentioned the A2D-1 because, while it also saw merely incremental BR changes, its final BR adjustement took it from 7.0 to 9.0 in one go without any accompanying buffs. Despite this not having occurred in RB, it at least shows that Gaijin can on occasion take drastic steps if they deem it necessary, regardless of how it makes them look.
Those are kind of so so.
I bet he-162 would perform better than those at their BRs
Meanwhile R2Y2s at 8.0 facing mig 15s and sabres
Man if only gaijin fixed how rocket engines interact with throttle percentage/fuel consumption/thrust all the rat rocket planes would be infinitely more bearable to play against. It’s actually so stupid how rocket engines have this absurd efficiency where throttling down massively increase endurance while not decreasing thrust at the same scale.
True, If the BI-1 really had 2 minutes max of fuel it would be pretty balanced (if an airspawn is added ofc)
The BI-1 would have less than 2 minutes to make a dent in the enemy team before it runs out of fuel and depends on it’s team to win the battle / cover it while it refuels in the airfield.
your objective vs a BI-1 would be to survive the 1:30 minutes of BI-1’s attacks and then kill as much of the enemy team as possible to leave the BI-1 alone.
Your objective as a BI-1 is to chew as hard as possible the enemy team in less than 2 minutes so your team can win.
Rocket planes could come down if this is added 100% and I wouldn’t mind at all.
(you could even add a TT Bi, since it had several prototypes built to help with stadistics and balancing)
BI-5, w fresh new shoes
