BF-109s/FW-190s feel over tiered and could go down

You’re pretty damn bad and you shouldn’t try to make an argument based on skill, as you are basically the fodder for any decent player.
You can also simply send me your in-game nickname so I can check your statcard and have more reliable way of telling you how bad you are, as WT stats puts Ground RB and Air RB into the same basket.

Dude, once again - when I had stats like you, my aim was horrible I had little situational awareness and generally had no idea how to play this game outside of “climb at the beginning”. That was literally the only thing I needed to get to 56% avg WR.

I’m not saying you can’t get good one day. But compared to top 3000 players, you’re pretty bad.
If I compare you to the avg WT amoeba then yeah, you’re doing ok, but do you really want to hear that?

That doesn’t matter - i see every few games absolute morons getting 4-5 kills with one ammo load of 120 rounds 20 mm ShVak (Yak-3s) with it.

There is little to no reason to fly 109s or 190s these days.

???

A-8s excel in early game presence by farming bombers or afk climbers - otherwise they are usually a free kill.

But - I admit that i saw a NC 900 (190 A-8) a few weeks ago with 7 kills (good pilot). As this was such rare event i watched the replay:

  • This was a mix of luck, skill and plain incompetence of the enemy team - paired with a favorable Map with heavy clouds and a small lobby (max 12 vs 12), no 5.7 uptier with Yak-3Us , no JP players on their team.

  • He (with 0 kills) got pushed to the deck by an I-225, flew to a far distant corner of the map and the I-225 ran out of ammo as he sprayed the whole time.

  • I tried to help him but the distance was that great (i side climbed at the opposite side of the map - P-47) that that i was too late and in this weather it was impossible to find a dot or marker.

  • All of his kills were possible as the enemies came in one by one (they had murdered the rest of our team and played PvE) and had obviously never heard anything about stealth ammo, climbing, staying fast on very cloudy maps or how to avoid getting energy trapped or how to dodge/avoid head-ons.

  • He won the game basically alone, my sole purpose (as his last teammate) was to provide top cover, avoid a red square for him and to score a cheap 3rd party kill.

Don’t bother with him. He doesn’t even fw catgirls.

I know my skill :) (top 5% btw) Nice job flagging btw

A8 can work quite well but there’s a requirement - aggression and luck. You know the performance is bad, so you know you have little to offer outside of head ons. So you push them. You have 4 cannos and 2 MGs. 0,1s of firing time is often enough. You need luck when predicting enemy flight patrerns as ballistics are absolutely horrible.
That thing is super bad performance wise.
But I can make it and F8 work on a regular basis. Yak-3U and similar powerhouses often underestimate you. Then they get hit a few times. I use this plane to create early chaos and 3rd party people left and right.
I’m not very good with it, but I can confidently say even now it works in Air RB way better than it has ANY right to do.
But for longer games I prefer D9.
D9 suffers from advertised speed being a dream and if your team is bad, you won’t be doing much unless enemy gives you just enough breathing room. But when they do… I mean, I hold the current high score for D9 (unless someone finally made an effort to play it right :P) would be stupid of me to talk bad things about this plane. It sometimes works!

Anyway, you’re kinda right that for real best performance and general enjoyment it makes little sense to fly German planes. Even pretty good G6 feels like fighting against the odds, when you meet Yak-3 almost co-alt and he turns better, pulls better at high speed, is better armed and rolls better too. Or when B7A2 denies your climbing advantage and roflsnipes you from 1000m away

ammo isnt a problem if you aim and there guns hit way harder and all 109s have from 120 to 240 20mm rounds and 1000 rounds for 7.7s and like 500 for 13mms but they do no damage

even in head ons it can still loose to other cannon fighters cause there guns do more damage by a lot

Gaijin did this way back in 1.29 update
German guns in general underperform because of nerf to Dora and that is connected to introduction then nerf then upgrade then nerf to Hispanos.
They did all that and at same time kept stealthily increasing damage of Russian guns…update by update.

mg151 does very poor damage in 2025

This is some garbage revision of history. What actually happened was simple. They introduced realshatter, and after its bugs got fixed, realshatter BUFFS damage from the previous damage algorithom… which is why currently shvaks and hispanos AREN’T garbage despite being garbage for 10+ years prior. This is ALSO why the MG151 is bad now because its one of the ONLY cannons that still use the old math which gives them poor damage in comparison.

No, the p51 d10 has almost identical performace to the other premium the 4.0 p51 D20 but it gets like 30 more HP in wep iirc, its not really that better over it

Nice that we share the same pov in this issue.

Even as i have fun trying to make “bad” planes work - i never liked 109s and the overheating and armament nerf of 190s is further reducing their rather limited options to play them.

I mean i still refuse to use MnK which is mandatory in order to be able to perform head-ons and join the head-on community 😊

In the last weeks i met frequently all 4.0 - 5.7 BR 109s in the US P-47 D-28. With proper MEC settings, WEP management and awareness you are untouchable. You can turnfight with them (except F-4), out run all of them and can’t get energy trapped by them - and most of them run out of fuel after ~ 18 minutes.

I am aware of this, but the overwhelming majority of players are unable to do this. So if you are assigned to an US/GER team and face USSR/ JP at BR 5.0+ the average outcome is a clear defeat - even if the player skill/experience is somehow similar.

From a neutral perspective it is (on average) rather rare to see anything outside the 109 F-2, 335 B-2 or Ta 152 H-1 able to score 3+ kills - and these are mostly experienced pilots.

You are right. But A8 has great roll and is fairly smol. Most people will try to dodge. I’m not saying A8 is very good. But it can work with certain playstyles and ability to predict the dodging patterns :P

Last time I checked it had a ton more power compared to 4.3 one, did it get nerfed?

And that is not how it works. By that logic clickbait should go down by BR. And have u seen anything to do with that the past 3 or 4 BR adjustments? No. Q5, do people get a lot done? No, but what BR is it now? The physical capabilities do have an impact, and if not for that, certain jets would just be repeatedly uptier’d, because they still have 4.0 k/D.

That is exactly how it works. I won’t humor otherwise.

Well clearly not, half of the past BR adjustments are just because people cried about them. Q5, J35XS, J7D (sort of for the sale but still), the fact that wyverns are doing well but not going up. The stats only works for a part of it, cause afterall, player skill is not measurable necessarily, players who played more or have more fighters will get better K/D however sometimes there are tech trees that just simply don’t have those, then stats go down, but that doesn’t mean the person is any worse of a player.

Not the case. Stick to facts and reality.

I don’t like your attitude but when you’re right you’re right, the yak3u and BI are the bane of my existence, at least with the yaks you can climb, the BI is just cancer. also if you think Germany is over tiered, play Italian props

I’m not saying Germany is overtiered.
But yeah, Re.2005 and G.56 and post flap nerf (you basically have no flaps unless you’re going like 280 IAS) G.55 Serie 1have 0 reason sitting as high as they currently do. Probably applies to other planes as well. C.205 S3 is not exactly stellar at 4.7
