Don’t play anything higher than 10.0 but Mirage 4000 looks cool.
Seafire
Rank 4 - Seafire LF Mk3, the F8F is also decent because it’s easy to use, but doesn’t excel in anything specifically.
Rank 5 - No great options available for france (unless you count the premium Sea Hawk which is good), but either the Meteor F Mk.8 or the F-84G would be my choice.
Rank 6 - Hunter F.6 is great and one of the best 9.3, Alpha Jet E was amazing at 8.7, I haven’t played it since it got to 9.0, so I am unsure how it fairs on the current matchmaker
Rank 7 - Easily the Mirage F1C, the rest are mid.
Rank 8 - Mirage 2k S5, Mirage 2k C5, F-16A OCU are all great options
Rank 9 - The one and only, the amazing rafale

Sadly grinded france before they added the subtree. I played with the 7.7 ouragan which is quite mediocre against other jets but at the same time most people are clueless and often easy kills, 500 rounds of 20mm can also do decent ground farming.
I was also curious about the Vautour IIN, mixed bag with it. Rip Tu-4s though. The vautour is kinda untouchable but also very hard to get kills with, it mostly annoys the enemy team like the F-104

with the IIN stay high no matter what, and take potshots at around 3km with the matra 511
You don’t need to teach me how to use it, believe me. But you can’t control matches with it if the enemy has 2 brain cells to rub together
that’s where you’re pretty wrong, you can easily get 6 kills in a match and win even against mig 15’s
You got barely over 1kdr with it, I have over 2kdr. I know better than you how to use it, and I had better luck with the MCLOS AA-20 Nords.
R511 is very easily avoided unless you are stalled in the air or you are a tu-4 up high
yeah i tend to do stupid stuff instead of actually playing and trying to kill enemies, like landing on my friend’s back while he’s on another bomber midair, K/D’s are pretty much useless stats

The most useful thing with the vautour is to make people chase you in a climb while having teammates nearby to engage in dogfights with them, when you turn around you have your chance for gun kill by third-partying a slow-moving jet because the Vautour is a huge brick that hates to point the nose wherever you tell it to, but can out-energy/climb everyone
Most of my kills with it were gun kills, my typical loadout was 2 R511 (for bombers) + 2 AA-20 to send at slow moving fighters. The R511 will often only hit AFK targets, sometimes you can catch those early game by flanking the enemy team and attacking the people still climbing behind the rest
on normal matches that’s pretty much what i do, use the 2 R511 on bombers, go behind enemy lines and bee line back to the airfield while trying to get the attention of enemies to lure them toward my allies and get some with the 2 nords
For CAS I would say F4U with the 1 million rockets, MB 452, alphajet, Mirage 2K D-R1 my beloved then M2K RMV, then Rafale.
