Alvis its common sense that the spalling of the plate is directly related to the size of the impact. A wider penetrator moves more metal. A hesh round works by increasing size of the impact, creating more spall.
If you punch a hole in a wall, you will have moved more debris. If a kid punches the same wall, his smaller fist will have punched through as well, but not with as much debris.

Solid shot and apfds can weigh the same, the solid shot would create more spalling, but wouldn’t penetrate as much through armor in a vacuum(meaning endless metal block).

Well so let’s start moving down IFV that are less capable than Begleit, time to move the entire 9040 and 9035 family to 9.0(with the exception of Bill it can be the same Br as begleit, and lvkv 9040C cause it has 5 crew + spall liner making it more survivable, but it could at least go down to 10.0 or 9.7, since shitty ready rack, terrible rack refill rate, mid proxy and kinda mid APDSFS that has basically the same pen as bagel APCBC but with way worse spall/damage)
2S38 has a worse round(way less explosive filler and almost the same trigger radius) and no radar so you need to first find planes/helis with your Eyeballs gen 1, it’s not on par with OTOMATIC on AA department, is actually worse, is a mid term between OTOMATIC and LVKV 9040C(also HSTV-L has the same Proxy as OTO so one could argue they’re HSTV-L is closer to OTO than 2s38)

Will admit that the bagel’s hull, like the TAM’s is stupidly trolly at times, but at the same time, the 2S38’s crew compartment survives stuff it 100% should not quite often.
Quite the opposite with the TOW imo due to the TOW’s drop and lack of tracking shortly after firing. In general though the TOW series as a whole is pretty terrible after the changes.
ZA-35, Falcon, BMP-2M, 2S38, ItpSv 90, Raketenautomat, USH 405, WZ305, ZU-57-2, PT-76-57 and more are all more toxic than the begleit. It’s no issue at its current BR.
bagleits br is good the problem is that 2s38 is underbrd and most other no missile only autocannon ifvs are overbrd like cv9030fin which is no where near bagleit in terms of strenght
I mean, yeah, it has a APHE shell with more pen than the begliet if they want more spall. Also, the begliet’s shell velocity is piss poor, aiming it is a nightmare sometimes (950 m/s on begliet AP vs 15000m/s on 2s38 apfsds)
