I’ve made a post asking for the missing ammo on the BR changes thread. Go support it:
Worked with the UK tanks (even if the punishment is them all being killed off) for their APHE last time.

Looks like the M1050 report is no longer marked as ‘Not Enough Information’ so it may be added to passed to devs
For me it’s still labeled as not enough info. I’ll be visiting the Royal Museum for the armed forces in Brussels in September for more information, notably primary sources.
I hope it goes well, the battle rating changing instead of introducing beneficial APFSDS is just frustrating with lineups
It’s especially frustrating as the “justification” for adding another Leopard to the French tree was that 9.3 apparently needed more variety, so now the Dev team is saying the Leopard 1a5 isn’t 9.3 material complete eliminates the reasoning for the vehicle to begin with
I don’t recall that that was ever said by Gaijin or their employees? Not that it matters, you can still bring it in your line-up and it will cost less SP if you do so at 9.3 (if they don’t change the BR move 9.3->9.0).
The reasoning is having a Belgian MBT. When fully implemented, quite the unique variant of a Leopard 1 as well.
Its still a 9.3 tank, even if the devs want to undertier it
the leo 1a5BE is one of the highest winrate tanks at 9.3 yet its going down because of how badly the german 1a5 does lol
Edit: It is the highest winrate 1a5 and 7th highest winrate tank of 9.3
In the duplicate vehicles post from a few weeks ago, the paragraph detailing the reasoning behind the Leopard 1a5BE stated:
“Many of you have probably experienced that feeling when you have unlocked your new tank, but are forced to either take a vehicle that is a few Battle Rating steps lower than it into your lineup or are forced to play with just one spawn, simply because there are no options for the lineup in the tree”
That points to Gaijin thinking that French 9.3 needed more vehicles
I personally don’t think that vehicle should be dropped to 9.3, clearly the devs do
That’s also why I asked Smin in the BR adjustment thread why the Leoaprd 1a5BE can’t, at the bare minimum, get its unique MECAR ammo.
If France is going to continue to get German and American designs in lieu of actual French ones, I’d like to see some minimum level of effort put into make them Unique and/or valuable
For example, with MECAR ammo and it’s MEXAS turret, the 1a5Be could act as a glass cannon at 10.0, a line up that has fewer potential French designs that could be added in the future, as opposed to 9.3
Part of me thinks this is the primary reason, with the others being lip service. As it has been seen, it doesn’t matter what is added, as long as it’s BeNeLux; it’s a bad addition.
Went to look at what the C2 (Mexas) is at, and well, it might be the best doing of all German 1A5s (even if how it’s a 1A5 is a mess that makes it a weak claim to be a variant of), it’s still doing worse than every non-German Leo. So even the old event curse can’t save it from being in the German tree curse.
Well with the 1A5 changes canceled I don’t think we are getting that domestic ammo.
Next best hope is that once the AMX-30c2 gets added, that they add the ammo for the 1a5be and move it up
That would put two TT MBTs at 9.3 (c2 and AMX-32 105) and two at either 9.7 or 10.0 (including the 1a5BE+MECAR ammo)
I would like the AMX30B2 Brunus to be given the OFL 105 G2 ammunition it historically used, and the correct Brenus armor protection, which provides protection against 100mm of KE (Killer Shot) and over 500mm of CE (Cellular Shot) (something that was reported, accepted, and then forgotten more than two years ago). After these realistic and historical changes, I would put this tank in BR 9.3 alongside the Leopard 1A5BE (with its historical ammunition). This would create a balance between a tank with a stabilizer and another tank without a stabilizer but with better ammunition.
Another issue that should be addressed in the game is the unrealistic elastic suspension of many French tanks without stabilizers. Instead of just a slight sway when braking, the gun literally sways for more than three seconds before coming to a complete stop. I believe this is one of the problems that should be reviewed in the game, as some tanks have suspensions that are far too unrealistic.
The addition of the leo to the french tt has ruined the intoduction of the AMX-30C2. I have a really bad feeling that it will be added in the next major update which will add absolutely nothing new gameplay wise as it will be essentially playing the same tank. Well if some miracle gaijin doesn’t add the AMX-30C2 next update (and have a different tank added) or add another ground vehicle alongside it, then it would be a good addition. Especially the drought of french vehicles the last 3 updates…
Just because a vehicle is confirmed in the works doesn’t mean it’ll arrive any time soon
A TT BMD-4 was announced when the event one was introduced, but didn’t get added until 5 or so years later
When DF-105 was added to Germany and not France, the devs said that AMX-13-105 was in the works, and allegedly it is now no longer planned
I’m hoping France gets actual French designed planes and AFVs for the next few updates, but I won’t hold my breath
I’m hoping if they add the C2, they’ll give it OFL 105 G2 or F2. I know how Gaijin works, and I have a strong feeling they’ll just copy the AMX-30 Super’s ammunition like how they did with the Leopard 1A5 and the 1A5BE. It’s also why I’m not particularly excited for something like the Leopard C3105 because again, they’re just going to copy over the ammunition from the Boxer MGS with the same turret.
I find it amusing that, simply because they lack a stabilizer, the developers have decided that the AMX-30B2 and Brenus can’t use better ammunition models. The AMX-30B2 and the Super would indeed carry the correct ammunition, but the Brenus, aside from not having the correct ERA protection, being a 1998 model, should be able to use the OFL 105 G2 or even the OFL 105 F2 (which isn’t in the game) and have its BR increased to 9.3.
I really don’t understand why people have an issue with a service vehicle, even more so when they clearly had enough changes to need a new model.
And it’s not like its replacement would be unique either under their logic, as the C2 (MEXAS) is in-game and so it would be a “C&P” of that by their logic for the base variant. And going by the logic of the C2 (MEXAS), anything with MEXAS it is a separate addition, as seen with the fact that there is a base C2 suggestion and the fake name Gaijin gave it. But then again, most add-on armour isn’t a mod but a new vehicle in-game.
Functionally the Leopard 1a5BE doesn’t differ from the other 1a5’s in game, especially given the lack of MECAR ammo. A new model may have been created, but it doesn’t meaningfully impact any way the vehicle is played
It’s actually pretty inconsistent. We don’t have two different versions of the BMD-4M (with and without add on armor), nor two versions of the EBRC with or without slats
The same goes for things like the 2a4M (slats and mine protection) as well as many of the German tanks with Schurzen armor
This is a case of add-on amour bing it own tank, both in game and in real life. As there is no M CAN without the add-on armour, just the 2A4 CAN, which is a different tank also bought from the Dutch. As it was part of an upgrade custom assembled to Canadian specs as part of the deal done with the Dutch for our Leo 2s.
AKA there is no variant of the 2A4M CAN without the add-on armour, as it doesn’t get removed. As they don’t use the variant, heck didn’t even get money from it; the Dutch did.
