Battlepass challenges unfair to Arcade players

I think some of the battle pass tasks are unfair to Arcade players or at least, force them into very specific playstyle if playing Arcade is the goal.

These high kill tasks, are relatively easy in RB, but way harder in AB, I don’t think there is enough of gameplay differences for justification for 6 vs 12 kills in arcade vs RB. (Okay, 6 kills in Air RB is waaay harder than 12 kills in Air AB)


Next, a task like this one, either forces the player into very specific playstyle (naval AB, coastal, with a tier 3 plane) or force them to do carpet bombing in GRB.

There were very specific tasks like “kill player tanks with aerial guided missiles” which only works 50% of the times in Arcade Tank Battles, at 8.0+ BR (?). The only planes that gets guided missile are A-10 and Avit (which is a random chance if you get them at all) and helicopters.

Gaijin needs to stop forcing RB mode or heavily incentize it on players who do not wish to play it. For example, the last special event, WW1, was only available in RB.

You dont need carpet bombing for that challenge, its easily doable with 50 kg bombs in GRB, its skill issue if you need to carpet bomb.

The point of my thread is that it should be easily open to AB players, but if you need to play GRB to complete it with no or few alternatives, that is precisely what I’m advocating against.

Ground; yes. Air; no. (don’t play naval enough to know for that mode)
It not only depend on Arcade/Realistic but also Air/Ground modes. For ground it’s easier in realistic but for Air it’s easier in arcade mode (at least in my personal experience).

I don’t agree, that task is doable in both arcade and realistic, just aim for open topped vehicles instead of just bombing anything that moves. No need to carpet bomb either.

Correct. I did this challenge in last few BP with US planes in Arcade. The multiplers are just over the place. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone get 6 player kills in ARB, so that is extremely rare.

The task demands the usage of tier 3 + planes, and I don’t think any tier 3+ planes in Arcade has 120kg and under bombs. Besides, you don’t get to pick what CAS options you’re spawned with.

Can’t complete it in ASB even if you can in ARB.

Naval 12 kills… that impossible unless your opponents are AI destoryers.

I think these tasks should be also made for SB modes. Anyway, doing it in air battles is really stupid, but possible. I used to bomb planes in air domination mode with the F84.

Yeah the battlepass challenges/daily were obviously designed for Coastal. “capture one point, kill one plane, kill one boat” etc. Chances are you are going to die before even reaching the capture point, and there are many maps in rotation that lacks a capture point (also battleships are too slow to reach them)

9000 damage of Petrel task is another example. How many time you actually get 9k+ dmg when you’re not using WW1 dreadnoughts and seal clubbing destroyers/cruisuers? Or using certain OP battleships that club others?

Which challenge are we talking about?

It is stupid, altho i did die to an enemy plane dropping a bomb while I was chasing them (low-flying Il-2 punished me for flying under them). However, even more sensible tasks can often not be accomplished in ASB like destroying ground targets. A few BPs ago we had “destroy 100 A.I tanks, artillery or SPAA.” Perfectly doable in RB but not in SB even tho dive bombing/strafing being harder with full-real controls?

Battlepass in general needs a serious rework to make it more like Deep Rock Galactic’s or Helldiver 2’s.

Challenges in general. Many tasks are impractical for specific modes. I posted some of them in the thread post.

But that is the whole point. I won’t be able to sink ships in ground mode either.
It is a challenge, not a trip to the fridge.

Most challenges are actually easier in arcade. Like Hero of the Sky.

I have no issues with challenges like having to play naval (a thing many people complain about).

But some tasks are very impractical in Arcade mode. Such as the “aerial missile against player ground vehicles” task.

Also, I’m aware that “hero of the sky” is easier in Arcade. I have in fact completed the challenge on AIr Arcade.

Kind of hard to destroy ground players in Air Sim though lol x) (because they don’t exist)

It’s available in ARB though.

Oh that’s true, i also just realised it just says “player vehicles” and not specifically ground, so dropping a delayed bomb to destroy a plane chasing you is a viable way to get progression on the task. Kind of hard to do in Sim, not impossible though.

I’ve always managed to get these tasks done with a combination if AAB and Naval AB.

Tte main thing you need for Air AB especially is a lot of crew slots and backups so you can keep spamming fighters :)

If every player of a team has the max amount of vehicles in the crew slots thats 12 spawns per player, 16x12= 192 possible kills, meanwhile in ARB the max amount of kills you can get is 16.
