Battle Rating idea

SO i had an idea i want to share with you guys.
What if we could do a br change that depends on the loadout/missiles/bombs u take with ur plane like this:
F-16A with 2 aim 9 l’s is 12.3 but with 6 aim 9 l’s 12.7 or with 6 aim 9 l’s and 12 500 lb bombs its 13.0
that was my idea i had in my head since the new br compresion.

How would it be implemented, you will have to select your loadout before going into battle

The problem is that you can change your loadout before you join the game in the spawn screen.

then they can make it active at any time
so that it changes when the loadout changes like spawn poinmts

Using your example, this means that you could go into a match with F-16A with 2 AIM-9L and get a full downtier to 11.3, but can enter into the game with 6 AIM-9L and 12500 lb bomb for 13.0, which allows you to more than uptier everyone in a match.

Variable BR based on ordnance is easily one of the most needed balance/QoL improvements for WT.

As has been said many times before, it would be tied to modules; if you unequip a given weapon module (shell, missile, bomb, etc) it will change your BR. Anything you get stock would of course not be removable.

 

This would allow for not only better stock grinds, but far more lineup options, as a given vehicle could be at multiple BRs depending on what it carries.

This wouldn’t meaningfully affect ease of balance either, as each “version” of a vehicle is effectively its own vehicle; it would be like having them as split vehicles, but by having them be together it’s significantly more user-friendly.

This would be massively positive from top-tier all the way down to things like the Ki-43 that’s stuck being three variants in one plane, yet two of them are worthless because its BR doesn’t change.

also this idea would be good but it really depends on the vehicle you are playing because there is a boat where when u disequip a certian module it makes ur firerate faster

This is something I’ve thought about with tanks too. Especially ammo types. It’d stop you playing your stock 7.7 Centurions against T-55AM1’s etc. (General decompression would allow for that also however).

Okay, your idea is implemented.
You go into a match and you selected bombs accidentally.
You can’t switch the loadout, so you leave the match before spawning.

You being too blind to chose the right loadout is not a flaw of this concept.

Real life pilots and crews know the location they’re going to before hand.
This idea does not work, let alone for how War Thunder is currently.
And War Thunder has FAR bigger issues than BRs.

Also, you said you’re blind as well.

IMO reactive BRs should only be affected by missile mods as any other ones light performance upgrade would create too much of a mess with balancing. The only ones that should are ones that dramatically increase performance such as the 150 oc on the Hornet Mk3 or Spitfire Mk24.

This is a bad idea and would lead to more problems regarding balancing. Would the T-64A be downtiered if it only had head? Instead of changing this all ammo types should coms stock in ground vehicles.

This isn’t real life.

You know exactly what loadout you chose to bring and what BR it resulted in.

The lack of balance is the single biggest problem this game has and is only rivaled by the terrible grind.

It would be more correct to balance depending on the installed modifications, but then no one would pump the planes to the top. After all, this is how you can make your life easier.

But the snails need your suffering to make you suffer.
Remember it’s not a free to play game, it’s pay to win Or grind to play

just why the f4c with useless aim7d no flare is 10.7 in air realistic and mirage IIIC is 10.0 with magick 1 and a single capable radar missile also turn better better gun since it’s not in a pod

Because BR is based on your INCOME per hour.
F-4C can take out 2 bases ( same income as for 5 kills) , mirage III can take out 0 bases and cant do 5 kills per match.
Mirage III weak, F-4C stronk 💪
