a reward skin (thats what that skin is right?) but on the wrong mark is an interesting decision, this plane would be a lot more unique as a basic mkIX so its not just the israel TT LF mkIX with a reskin.
the gun loadout isnt really anything to shout about either tbh.
I dont mean ill with this, but making it a base mkIX would be a healthier decision for an additon. Weizmans spitty is already there as the premium LF IX. theres also a lot of LF IX already in the game its pretty generic now

Multiple BP vehicles have skins from neighbouring variants too. The Strikemaster 88 has skins from the Strikemaster 89 for example. Which is also “on the wrong mark” :
The vehicle is a Spitfire LF IXc CW which also has a F IXc available skin to it as well (for its visual appeal). Many vehicles across the game have this.
It isnt though. As I explained to you above, the vehicle already has an entirely different wing (C vs E) to the Israeli Spitfire:

So we are getting a different wing variant? And the engine is modeled like mark 61, based on the short carbeurator.
I think you have convinced me to get the battle pass now, these new facts brought to light have given me a very different view.
I like the .303 guns, they are much better than the .50
This is the LF IXc CW yes. The Israeli one is the LF IXe CW.
This version (Greek IXc) will have the Merlin 66 engine.

mate its still just a universal wing… (the E wing should get the option for a gun layout like the C gets in game btw, would love gun loadouts to be an in game option instead of whole different vehicle to spade in the future)
At least the greeks actually got LF mkIX. as far as i can tell the USSR and USA never revieved any at all

You claimed it was a reskin of the existing Israeli version and that the standard IXc would somehow be the better option. Neither of those things would be the case.

Ill admit i prefer the .303 over the trashy early .50 cal belts all spitfires get. but its placaebo more than anything

Smin, seriously, the fact that it has a certain type of wing or a smaller caliber in the machine guns doesn’t change the fact that it’s the same plane with minimal differences. This is the forum, so please, since you have direct contact with the developers, tell them to take a look at the suggestions section so they can choose something better and stop being lazy. In the end, they’re hurting themselves because few people will buy this terrible pass.

There was no claim of major differences. I was simply clarifying the facts from incorrect claims made its the same as the one in the Israeli tree (which it isn’t, C vs E). The suggestion that somehow downgrading it also to the F IXc will make it better is also not correct.
The suggestions section is under constant review, not just from things passed, but from the day to day ideas too. The devs are aware of many vehicles suggested and these come to the game in a variety of ways. From standard tree vehicles, to events, squadron and other means too.
We aim to keep a range of vehicles available, as well as many other interesting historical and other significant vehicles available via a range of means.
Of course not every BP reward will appeal to everyone. That’s why we host a mix of differing events and options throughout. Its also worth noting that the BP is generally the place to find more functional and practical premiums.
In this case:
- The first Greek aircraft (a historically significant one)
- One of the most reliable and functional prop aircraft, familiar to many
- The 90th anniversary of the Spitfire

it would. in its current state its not filling any gaps or offering anything new to the israeli tree.
the premium spitfire for 5.7 (soon to be 6.0, vehicle capability vs player skill once again) is filled by the Weizman’s spitfire and the clipwing LF mkIX gap is filled in the tech tree.
theres a free space for a clipwing standard mkIX at 4.3 though. while offering a more major variant difference than gun loading. We dont have a M63 spitfire in game, when this is M66 spitfire #7
