BAe Sea Harrier - Technical data and discussion

It’s really not though he’s grasping at straws it’s better then the F-4E but worse then the F-15

It just lies between them.

At very low speed the harrier is the best as it can obviously thrust vector and all.

Pretty big margin there to be far, would be better to narrow it down a little. Like saying its between a m1911 and a china lake grenade launcher.

it actually went from “Harrier is the best” to “harrier is better than a phantom” to finally arrive at “harrier is better than the f-104”

the harrier dosent even lie in between the f-4 and f-15

the f-4 has a better str than the harrier

Except it doesn’t

The 101 engine harrier has superior sustained turn rates from 450 knots and below

And only a small advantage above that.

15 vs 17.5 is F-4E vs F-15A

so the F-4 has a higher peak STR than the Harrier

Yeah if it holds 550 knots and manages to avoid a missile sure

you harrier chart isnt even with missiles

surly putting missiles onto the harrier will improve its performance
meanwhile the F-4 chart is with missiles

Right… it’s also the 101 engine harrier

And it’s only got the fuselage sparrows that cause little drag

and the harrier got no missiles

so tell me either you gonna argue that the harrier has 14.something degrees of STR
or it has missiles

you wont have both at that fuel load

Remove the 3 empty pylons it might with 2 pylons and 2 missiles

so now we are just making guesses

I can do the math if you really need me too lol

The Mk103 harrier will surpass that significantly regardless

sure and an upgraded phantom with more thrust will also rate better
i can also do bs arguments

A harrier vs an f4, in a dogfight? U sure…

Just pure delusion. The Lightning was not a good turner by any means.

Lmao the lighting at 5,000 feet will sustain the starfighters instantaneous turn rate.

It’s vastly superior to the starfighter, and the harrier, even when starting at a disadvantage in both speed and position using only 95.5% rpm would win or draw more often then it would lose.

With the harrier carrying drop tanks 9G and having full internal fuel

Sure it will.

I just posted you the entire air combat evaluation regarding this mate

Out of 10 engagements the harrier lost 3 and won or drew 7 times
