as a harrier main in Sim battles i think a gr9a will be increasable platform with ASRAAMs and HMD and better engine and weapons like Brimstone, i take the GR7 in to 14.0 in Sim and i do rations of 2 deaths and 15 to 16 kills

Harrier 1 flight performance isn’t even close to what it should be, if they fix that then there would be 0 issues with the Sea Harriers at their BRs.

I have lost in dogfights to early Mig 21s using the same strategies and actual Harrier pilots and I repeatedly lost, bear in mind the pilot I was up against wasn’t super skilled in the Fishbed playstyle. I believe that the Harrier 1s should be preforming almost as well as Harrier IIs are currently

How would the GR.9A lock targets for RADAR missiles considering it has no radar?
AMRAMM can be used in pitbull. Skyflash not so much.
Do we have any proof of the GR.9A carrying AMRAAMS?

AMRAAM can be Maddoged in which you launch it and it finds its own target (friendly or not) or AWACS which would have been more likely

Active Skyflash could also be mad dogged, it also had no datalink, so in theory you could’ve just queued it up with the DMT. Since all it would need would be angular rate, elevation and azimuth.

Chance is probably zero. It just wasn’t done, the only aircraft to get close to having Active Skyflash fully functional was the F.3.
