BAe Harrier II (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion

I mean with the mix of ancient/useless airframes I’m sure you can see why I’m after a top tier. The thing is, is I’d happily take something unique. TSR-2, Supermarine Type 545, hell even a Buccaneer S.2B if we resort to that. just something enjoyable, useful, and reasonably competitive.

Yeah, we all want something playable at top tier. But in the absence of that, no excuse for nothing in 7 months

@Smin1080p Heya, would love to know what the plan is with MAWS now, it’s added in a very similar configuration on the Vark now(at a lower br where it’s arguably less needed). But nothing on the GR.7 which is one of its staple features. Is this something that will be added soon in a “it’s fixed”. Or are we going to be waiting a while?

The moment MAWS comes to any british aircraft will be the day US and USSR moves onto stealth aircraft or something

Terma pod didn’t even exist when the GR.1 was in service. It’s for GR.4 only

Only stealth aircraft?, I’m expecting 6th gens before Britain even gets chaff on the Tornado

It is reasonable to assume that not all GR.1 had been converted to Gr.4 so they could ahve been able to use them as well, same for German one Saab Avitronics BOZ-101 , we still had assta 1.0 /2.0 (no real change ingame wise) at that point and would be reasonable to assume all tornados used them

Could equally say that because the F-5C gets flares for being an F-5A family aircraft, the Gr.1 should get Terma because the GR.4 is part of the GR.1 family of aircraft.

Although i don’t really think it needs it.

the hell you talking about, the countermeasures of the tornados are completly broken , the pods originaly should give 28 flares and 540 chaffs per pod, so a total of 54 flares and 1050 chaff, while we are carriyng massive drags and only get a minimum of our countermeasures and every other aircraft flies around with double the amount. The maws pod (german one) would give us at least access to 195 countermeasures per pod so 390 that can be equaly divided between flares and chaff

I confused the Terma with LANTIRN somehow, entirely me being stupid for a second.

jesus had to recheck but you were completly of the mark not even a countermeasure pod or ecm pod, latrin is a targeting pod xD

There is no evidence that the TERMA pods were ever integrated into the GR.1.

It’s not reasonable at all. Terma pod wasn’t flown on Tornado until 2008. The last flight of a GR.1 is well documented: It was performed by ZA326 on 13 December 2005 at Boscombe Down. i.e. 3 years before Terma was in service.

We are planning to expand functionality to all aircraft that had the same type of system. Various platforms are under consideration.
