As War Thunder keeps adding more advanced aircraft and weapons, I think it would be interesting to discuss the future possibility of:
- AWACS aircraft
- Electronic warfare
- Strategic bombers
- Ultra long-range missiles
Aircraft like the:
- Boeing E-3 Sentry
- Boeing EA-18G Growler
- Rockwell B-1B Lancer
- Boeing B-52 Stratofortress
could completely change top-tier gameplay if War Thunder ever continues moving deeper into modern warfare.
AWACS
AWACS aircraft could provide:
- Team radar coverage
- Better detection of low-flying aircraft
- Shared targeting information
- More teamwork-focused gameplay
Electronic Warfare
Aircraft like the Growler could introduce:
- Radar jamming
- Datalink disruption
- SEAD/anti-radar gameplay
- More realistic modern air combat mechanics
The Big Question
Would these systems improve War Thunder, or would they make gameplay too focused on long-range missile combat?
Especially if missiles like the AIM-174B were ever added, maps and gameplay might need to become much larger and more strategic.
I think features like:
- Larger EC-style maps
- Escort missions
- Strategic bombing
- Radar warfare
- AWACS objectives
could make top-tier air battles feel much more immersive.
