I think I would rather see recon pods or even recon variants of existing aircraft (like the Tornado GR1A) that could still be used conventionally, but with an added functionality rather than aircraft even more useless that Strat bombers already are.

There are also ECM aircraft like the F-18G which would be of a similar kind of role, but a lot more useful.

But first things first, would be to see Gaijin fully add more Strat bombers and then add new mechanics like sensor fusion which would be needed to at least make AWAC style aircraft half useful.

Maybe in the future, but for now, just seems like its better suited for AI

Yeah even if solely AI if it did something to help your team and had an incentive to protect at least a little would make the game more immersive. Just like nuclear thunder somewhat tried to do, but ruined itself with cheating spaa
