I’m questioning the viability of bringing out the A-10C when the AV-8B NA is arguably better. In the past, the A-10A was competitive at 10.3/7 due to the lack of highly effective SPAAGs and the exceptional performance of the AGM-65D. However, at top tier, where speed is crucial, I don’t think the A-10C will be competitive.
The A-10C does have a MAW (Missile Approach Warning system), which is beneficial when facing Pantsirs and IR missiles. But is it worth sacrificing its other capabilities?
In terms of ordnance, the only viable options are those with thrusters. Momentum-based ordnance, such as bombs, requires a high speed to launch safely. For thruster-equipped ordnance, the A-10C has APKWS, laser-guided Mavericks, and IR-guided Mavericks. However, unless you’re willing to significantly increase the SP cost, you’re limited to only two laser-guided Mavericks, and the APKWS is somewhat useless.
In contrast, the AV-8B NA offers more flexibility, with the option to carry four laser-guided Mavericks or ten JDAMs. This makes the AV-8B NA a more appealing choice.

the AV8 doesnt have maw? its essentially a copy paste of the British harrier GR7 but without AIM9-Ms, id be surprised if the American version didn’t have MAWs.
And yes the harrier is more versatile than a warthog, its one of the most versatile planes ever made, its payload is just much smaller than then A10
But 12.0 for the A-10C just seems a bit too high, especially when the AV-8B + exists, and can do everything the A-10 can do but better at the EXACT same BR.
And the F-111F (for now) is 11.7, lower than the A-10 in GRB. Which, again, the F-111F can do the A-10’s job but better, and now at a lower BR.
A-10C will also get JDAMs at some point. Even with slow speed, they can be lobbed a long way much easier than LGBs and can be fored entirely from cover behind mountains
The A10c is getting aim 9M isnt it? and JDAMs will probably come in the future, either way the A10 isn’t meant to be used in ARB as its free food for everyone.
the vark doesn’t have a gau 8. and isn’t as agile as a warthog
wait its going to be 11.3? I know America pilots suck and premium kids will wreck its performance stats but still WTF
a Harrier ii has no right to be at the same BR as a Falklands war Harrier frs1, its engine is better and it can turn harder than an FRS1 even when its VIFFing its unfair as hell
Ive beaten my friends in 1v1 dogfights in the GR7 when they are in MIG29s on one circle fights a few times and don’t fear F16s in ARB either. I take it to top tier while I’m grinding for the gripen as a plane with a lot of performance at low altitude and four 9Ms can mess really catch people off guard
not really much of an upgrade for war thunder gameplay beyond two more 9Ls and giving it 9M would throw it so high in BR its unplayable so I’m glad its only 11.3, when it should be 11.0 max
I once nearly won a 1v3 vs Mig-29s in the Gr7 (got 2, last guy got me, but I would have survived if we had MAWS back then as he snuck up on me )
And did rather humiliate some Su-27s and Mig-29s in a nearly stock Sea Harrier FA2 right at the start of the last update. (2 Maneuver kills + 1x Aim-9L kill, they tried to turn fight me at 150kts with me on 30% nozzle and flaps :D )
They are great aircraft, but need some TLC. Just miss playing the Harrier Gr7 in Sim. When it got Aim-9Ms it was BRed into oblivion. No radar just sucks at a BR higher than the Tornado F3.
Honestly as I don’t really play sim I never use radars unless its to slave my IR missiles lock or for AMRAAMs. Ive found it to be more effective to turn radar off to not ping RWS and sneak up on unsuspecting players, the GR7 means I cant slave my missiles for an easier lock but saves me turning it off. honestly it does fine at 12.3 as long as you are a kind of ok pilot
