In game, when an autoloader on a T-Series tank like the T-90, T-80, T-72, or T-64 is hit and broken, it cannot reload, and therefore has to wait however long the reload is, in real life, if an autoloader on one of these tanks is broken, the gunner or commander can be manually cranked to reload, however it is extremely slow, however is can still be reloaded. https://www.reddit.com/r/TankPorn/comments/161jv1w/if_the_autoloader_on_russian_t_tanks_broke_could
If you hit a part of the autoloader that breaks and makes the ring not able to spin (lets say you broke a gear or somerhing). How do you expect the commander/gunner to crank the thing if the rotation of the ring is blocked???
This is War Thunder, many things are not realistic with gears and other parts not ingame, if that was the case then repairs on all vehicles would be more than 1 minute.
If autoloader breaks or gets jammed, crew can rotate and elevate it manually, each shell rack on its own, and then use the rammer, manually, to put the round in the barrel. It increases the reload time from like 7 seconds to like 30 but is doable
Yes but there is a difference between the autoloader not working (the power system goes out) and the autoloader bein broken (gets hit and jammed).
They should make a separate module for the power or just designate certain parts of the autoloader as the power system. If that gets hit you go to manual cranking until you repair. If the other part gets hit you cannot reload.
Can’t the gunner or commander just take extra shell that aren’t in the autoloader and loaded in to the gun without using the Autoloader at all? And I am very sure turning and autoloader is gonna take as much time as fixing one as I am very sure it heavy as hell.
Never said anything about the elevation of the autoloader for the shell to enter the breach, what I said, was that the autoloader without power or it being broken can be manually cranked, and the shell can be picked up, and manually loaded into the breach.
In the T-90M I think yes, as there are extra shells located in a different section of the turret behind the crew, that is also protected by blowout panels,
Which off cause should be what happened when you only hit the turret basked. The turret should just stop being powered but still able to be manually aimed.
