South African plane for South African sub tree in the British tech tree or it doesn’t come in at all and if anyone says it should go elsewhere then why do other nations with sub trees such as Sweden and China get to have their sub tree nations planes? British TT or not at all.
Was there not a statement denying a South African air tree in the British tree?
I can see them disregarding that stance of coruse but it will be interesting to see what happens.
Probably because it’s a modification of a French airframe…
As long as it comes to the game I’m not to bothered wether it will be in the French, British or Israeli tech tree myself. Why would you not want it if it is not in the British tech tree?
no one confirm or deny
Q. Could you clarify if it’s possible we will see South African Aircraft in the British tree too now that they have ground forces within their tree? Currently there is only the Rhodesian Hunter as a premium aircraft.
- The British aircraft research tree is already quite representative (five lines as opposed to four in ground vehicles tree before South Africa was introduced). South African aircraft may be added in another capacity - as a premium or event and squadron vehicles.
Ah yes. Perfect.
Sure nothing denied, even if, that could change, but saying ‘‘maybe added in another capcity - as premium or event and squadron vehicles’’, is not necessarily a reason to rave about the British tech tree being the only thinkable place for South African service aircraft.
I could live with late Columbian or Ecuadorian IAI Kfirs in the Israeli tech tree, with South African Atlas Cheetah in the British tech tree and ENAER Pantera in the French tech tree.
As long as Mirage IIIS/RS comes at all for example I would not care much beyond amusement wether it ends up in the German or French tech tree.
Looking forward to see what happens, also with the Gripen situation.
With the implementation of Swiss Hunter and F-16J everything seems possible.
Cheetah in German tech tree???
I think you’re misinterpreting the statement (to be fair, Gaijin’s wording isn’t very good here.) What they’re saying is that since British air already has five tech lines, they wouldn’t make a whole new subtree line like with South Africa’s ground forces. The “premium and squadron vehicle” thing doesn’t necessarily mean they’re going to add them as premiums to other tech trees, just that they weren’t interested in adding South African aircraft as researchable vehicles.
Not quite.
everything should be in German cuz German
So is the Kfrir, what’s your poinit. People already had this argument, South African vehicles should not be in the French, since the nation itself is French Ally or have any common relations the to the French, the Nesher is based of the Mirage 5, why isn’t it in the French tree ?
The Cheetah series is based of both the Kfrir and Mirages, having more relations to Israel than it does to the French.
Your error of thinking, is MoDiFiCaTiOn Of A fReNcH aIrFrAme, doesn’t mean it should be in French tree.
There is a lot French vehicles that can be added and the Cheetah is not one of them.
You missed the point.
It should be placed in the British Tech Tree just as other South African vehicles are in the Ground Forces Tech Tree. The Atlas Cheetah should definitely get added ingame in Britain.
+1.
This shouldn’t be an argument and is straight forward
This is a South African vehicle and should go to the South African Sub-TT. It’s like saying all American leased vehicles by the Soviet Union should be in the American TT (which it’s not).
Besides that it’s a +1 for me (UK TT addition)
New news about sub-tree tech because of the debate if I feel like it needs posting here:
M8 just give it up it’s going into the British now weather you like or not SA is a sub tree of Britain so any further SA vehicles will go in there.
Giving up what exactly?
I don’t really care regarding the placement of Cheetah as long as it comes to the game as I mentioned before.
Very good of you to link that post. It certainly is a deviations from earlier ones.
Some vehicles might end up in very strange situations of course.
I understand connecting it to Israel and France by it’s historical relevance but if it’s South African it should be in the British TT. Especially considering the AML-90 is already there so French vehicles in the British TT via the SA subtree is already a thing. As for whether it could go to Israel it could serve as a premium or higher tier squadron vehicle as an additional option to the British TT.
For an addition into the Isreali tree I’d recommend Chile’s similar ENAER Pantera (Mirage 50’s modernized for Chile by IAI), or the actual Cheetah E’s they purchased - as spare parts sources however, not as service aircraft
ENAER Pantera
+1 not sure about placement but either way great suggestion
I think that Great Britain should keep everything related to South Africa since they already have a sub tree within the game. If Israel wants a plane with similar characteristics, they have the Mirage 50CN Pantera from Chile, which has a better engine and more weapons (Python 3, LGB Griffin) than the Atlas Cheetah. And in the same way it was modified between Chile and Israel.
