ATGM follows cannon barrel line of sight even when using commander sights

This makes firing behind hills with commander’s sight completely useless…

They should implement this, because (i think) in reality both commander and gunner could control the missile? I might be wrong though

… Because the missile is literally still being fired from the launcher? It doesn’t just magically fire from anywhere else lmfao.

Every single vehicle with commander sights, gun barrel and ATGM.

Still counts as a " launcher " by technical definition so you lose the semantics game. Also commander sights are never flush with the launcher so you need to take that into account ontop of the launcher position before you even fire.

And last I checked, as knowledge goes, Commander controls only link with gunner controls and do not function as an override in WT.

You talk about where the ATGM is shot from, and i talk about the separate autocannon.

Obvious once again.

The actual problem is how the ATGM never goes where commander sights are aimed at, if the autocannon (or any other separate main barrel) doesn’t have enough depression.

But doesn’t still make sense for the commander sights having elevation of +45/-20 or something, if you can’t actually shoot anything past the main barrel elevation angles. Even with separate weapon systems.

The Launcher is not going to magically change position just because you’re using a different optic. That’s not how it works in reality and that’s not how it works in-game.

What it amounts to is you having an awareness issue of where your launcher is in conjunction with your vehicle’s position regarding unobstructed firing lines.

It’s also a really simple issue to fix; Pay more attention.

The launcher doesn’t guide atgms… Optics do.
It doesn’t matter where the launcher is aiming, as after the initial launch from the tube, the atgm doesn’t care about it anymore and is only guided by optics.

I thought that is pretty obvious, but apparently not.

And the game doesn’t care about what optics you’re trying to use if Gaijin hasn’t modeled it accordingly, which is what it amounts to down to brass tacks.

Which is the entire purpose of his thread you dingus, to get that changed so that the ATGMs actually function like they do IRL and follow the sight-line of the optic which is guiding them rather than just following the gun-barrel which has nothing to do with the ATGM. Are you being dense on purpose or what?
