Asymmetrical Battles Await You In the “Advance” Event!

This is just a suggestion to improve the QOF of this game mode.

-Unlimited lifes for defenders.

-Slower capture speed of the points.

-Dont allow any kind of CAS to deffender team, just deffensive/recon planes for less SP to fight the Attackers CAS, this would be possible by just blocking the acces to weapons capable of eassily destroy tanks like the APHE on yak9 or any kind of bombs/rockets,this planes would be just able to mark the enemies on the map, destroy artillery/AAA with the machine guns wich would be difficult because u are in 1st person.

-Common lifes for everyone in the attacker team (like 250 lifes and if they capture a point they receive +50 reinforcements for the entire team).

-Make planes go 1st person to nerf CAS.

-Make Axis vs Allies (nations like Israel or Sweeden just for mid tier/ top tier unless they let u use the WWII tanks from sub nations).

-Increase SP needed for planes with APHE/Strong CAS.

-Cooldown for tanks (if u use the Tiger for example and u die, u have to select other 2 tanks until u can spawn the tiger again so we avoid things like VFW spam, Tiger P spam,ARL-44 spam).

-More spawnpoints to avoid spawncamp.

-Deffensive bots for the the defenders team (like AT guns and maybe stationary Bot tanks acting as the defenders of the points) i mean, they are already in game and coded so they could put them and HE would be more usefull.

-Make it a 32vs32 game mode.

-Super Units when this game mode gets more BR’s (u get an exact amount of SP and that will allow one player use a super unit like an IS3 or a Maus, there cant be more than one super unit in the battle at the same moment).

-Reduce cooldown of artillery attack (to destroy campers or even to annoy them with a lot of arty so everyone is used to constantly move)

Camping is abit too strong in this gamemode. All it takes is a single Porsche tiger covering the flank to make advancing near impossible for most attacking nations. Feels like something is missing in this mode.

Oh - you mean everyone is using their best 5.7 (top BR) because there’s no point going for anything lower??

Small map for the game mode :b it would need a special design for the game mode or expand the map and add bridges to cross the different zones of the map

Thats why there should be a cooldown for tanks so u cant use the same tank 5 times in a row, something like u use the Tiger,then u gotta use 2 other tanks to reuse the Tiger again would be perfect, or maybe make it so u need to use different kind of tanks, if u use a heavy and die then u gotta use 2 other types of tanks like light, or AT to use the heavy again

Nah, a lot of people would scream about that, there must be a balance, anyway this is just a test for the game mode,its not bad, refreshing for the game but it feels like it has been made in a rush because all the polemics around the game and the community displeasure, i made a post of suggestion for the game mode to improve it, take a look :b

After playing a few matches, I think this is a good start, but big room for improvement.

Here is my suggestion for balancing players just spawning the best tanks over and over.

  1. Divide the matchmaker into its tiers, 1 through 8.
  2. The starting vehicles of each tier are considered a “reserve” vehicle, and cost 0 Spawn points to use. (for example, Rank 3 US would have the M24 / M4A1 76 / M6A1 etc)
  3. Spawning any tank that is NOT the reserve vehicles requires Spawn points. So to spawn a sherman jumbo at 5.7 would require 300sp for example.

This would mean players cannot simply spam the best vehicle for its BR spread, and have to work if they want to spawn the “better” tanks

uh… paying higher cost for better equipment is a very common way to balance things … everyhere except WT!

I think this mode has great potential for PVPVE elements.

Imagine if attackers had to escort half tracks or infantry to the objective, and that was their win condition. While defenders had things like bunkers, where the attacker would have to hit a small weakspot with an HE shell to destroy the bunker and allow their infantry to advance. AT gun emplacements would make a great addition.

Id imagine it would play a bit like a MOBA with lanes that each team would have push back and forth, with infantry or halftracks serving as the minions.

I would also love to see a cold war version of this with M113s and BTR 70s. If there were more soft targets, it would give so much more variety in the viability of vehicles. Autocannons would be more than just rat tanks, as they would be great at destroying trucks and infantry.

Yep, because people using OP tanks like the ARL44 or the VFW would get the SP really easy, it is sad but that option wouldnt work in War Thunder because tanks are not balanced, there will be always a tank that will be better than the other even if both are at the same BR like t34-85 and t34-85 Gai, the Chinese version is better at the same br

the system is that you have a fixed points total - not one that is generated by capping or other activities.

Say you have 1000 pts and your top tank costs 550 - well that means you can NEVER have 2 of them in the game.

Typical that WT players are myopic and can’t see anything different to the mechanisms already in the game!!

I dont like this. I dont like when half my team gets removed from a match early. I dont like when I get removed from a match early. I would much rather be able to play the whole thing out without worrying about having no SP

How is it different from running out of SP “early” in RB, or your 3 respawns in AB?

No-one forces you to bring the most expensive thing and then decide to not back it up with chaper replacements!

You have the option of bringing larger numbers of cheaper equipment rather than 1 monster item if you so wish - pays your price and takes your choice.

I argue that it shouldnt be like that in other modes. That is the primary reason every match ends in spawn camping, not bad map design. Because if one team does well at the start, they can literally prevent half the enemy team from respawning.

If i was in charge of war thunder, there would always be a reserve vehicle for every rank that could be spawned for 0 SP

Spawn camping isn’t usually early ending tho - it is usually apprpriate shortening of the game due 1 side being smashed.

You don’t have infininte resources in war - and you shouldn’t have them in wargames - spawning reserve vehicles for free (in RB) is just gifting SL/RP points to a spawn camping enemy
