ASEAN Founders Aviation Sub-Tree

Quite obviously
But stuff like the Su-25K and Su-25BM are put in russia because the original was from there
China also has quite close ties with malaysia(some areas more than others)

Why? Did Russia/China need another Su-30? Japan top tier are desperately need a CAS, that is why Japan need the sub-tree

As a Malaysian I doubt it, I would say Malaysia-PRC relations is about the same as Malaysia-Japan relations

There are no Su-30s in game but i don’t think balancing is the most important.
F-2 can go to japan if that helps
Point is i don’t think the Su-30MKM will be the best option to save japan.

This is why the Su-30MKM didnt make into the actual aviation subtree proposal and is instead an honorable mention

Although I would prefer the MKM to be part of the larger ASEAN subtree, I dont think it would be too disruptive to have the MKM part of the Russia TT as long as its flagged as Malaysian and the ASEAN subtree still gets implemented, ideally just as how its depicted in the post.

EDIT: Well, I didnt know but it seems that the MKM is basically a “Western” upgrade to the Su-30 so I am now even more on board with the MKM being part of the aviation subtree. Might even be good enough to get the Russian players to play other nations like Japan. Also other nations having better top tier stuff than the original manufacturer happens so often in this game. Sweden has the best Leo 2, and the US has a better AV-8.

I am in favor of all these vehicles being added but i don’t think an “ASEAN” subtree would be a good idea
Singapore could go to UK, israel or china(please don’t debate me again, just agree to disagree)
Malaysia we either could have it in china, UK(?) or russia(remove the other vehicles and only have Su-30MKM and russian made vehicles)
Thailand i’m fine with in japan
Philipines im also fine with in japan or maybe US
Indonesia i’m fine with in japan

That is what I means, I mean our relation with China is more or less the same as our relations with Japan, if political factors counted I would say Malaysia is more closer to Japan.

Bro, like our navy use shit ton of different nation ship LOL, from this to Germany MEKO to France Gowind, I bet future they will purchase Russia vessel also LOL

I obviously disagree with Singapore going to the UK, but this is a reasonable take. UK already has a few subtrees though tbh

Just give it to Israel😂, if Gaijin didn’t want to cancel Israel tree at least giving them something other than Merkava and Magach

Isn’t Phlippine already go to US? The Rank 1 biplane

US is also an option. sorry for forgetting to add it

Overall malaysia has pretty good relations with both candidates, however i think even though the Su-30MKM should be in game i don’t think japan needs it; they can get some other options for CAS
Also from my experience playing japan even at low tier the CAS ain’t that good, the bombs are really trash and the machine guns are under 12.7mm(idk if this is relevant, but just saying)

At least low tier is “ain’t that good” level, middle top to top tier really didn’t have one, F-16 and F-5 without pod is really hard to firing at maximum range

Low-tier Japanese bombers are all right, but nothing to write home about. B7A and N1K2 are probably the best, but still not good compared to other nations

I agree with this part.

This is the same conclusion we came to and that is why this suggestion is not for a complete ASEAN tree of all 10 nations, but only the founding members.
This is still a concise grouping and now has the additional benefit of being a more realistic number of nations to give proper representation to and also has the most “western” equipped nations.

I also fully agree with similar multi-national subtrees for China, though obviously those would not include the 5 founding ASEAN members.

For the Su-30MKM in particular I’d like to point out it is one of three eastern vehicles Malaysia could have, with most of their vehicles still western. It is an exception, not the rule.
All eastern Malaysian vehicles also have their own western touch to them (MiG-29N with AIM-9L/M, Su-30MKM with western avionics, PT-91M being post-Soviet Polish design) which I personally find rather interesting.
I see a Malaysian Su-30MKM in roughly the same light as I would a Bangladeshi Rafale, which might be added to the Chinese tree if Bangladesh is part of their subtree.

I don’t expect you to agree, I think it is clear we both won’t change our opinion here, but I at least wanted to share mine.

PT-91M’s western touch is more than this, from the fire control system (FCS) to track, most part are from western (major from France and Germany) that making it more mobility than other T-72, the most significant change is say goodbye to Soviet traditional -4km reverse

Yes, I meant to say that as a short form of describing it. It’s got so many new features that it would be unfair to call it a T-72 still and it can very much be considered a new design.

Whatever you say. It’s just that to me, I am on the side of spliting Phillipines’ equipment to other nation’s tech tree. I am not that invested in the “integrity” part of tech tree nor the concept of ASEAN tech tree as a whole.

MKM with Paveway and Damocles would be a nice addition, especially since the USSR lacks badly in the electro optical pod department.

also not to forget that MKM has GBU-12 Paveway locally integrated as of compatible with Damocles and custom pylon several years back

also frankly enough, before this suggestion went up I do kinda dreamed about MKM being like UK premium or at least event vehicle since MKI will be there too, but then again UK tree is already cluttered so much and no way RAAF and RCAF F/A-18A/CF-18 will be there (with devs skipping A variant Hornets)
