Yep, I don’t think Japan will be without a lineup at 10.3/10.7 for that much longer to be honest, with Thailand’s ground vehicles rolling out, now Indonesian and Malaysian coming as reinforcements for air too, it’s only a matter of time before we start seeing tanks from those too which are honestly much needed, particularly Indonesian Leopard 2A4+, Harimau and Malaysian PT-91M all sound like great 10.7 lineup contenders, additionally maybe the Pandur II (Cobra 8x8) and Badak could too but those sound like slightly lower BR options, anyways 10.3/10.7 is a BR gap Japan has and I would welcome it as a stepping stone as opposed to the massive jump from 9.3/9.7 straight to 11.7 currently, I want to see Harimau the most because come on! Look how sexy this is!
some instruments are made domestically by Infoglobal, some hawks still uses the original MFDs, but the overall cockpit layout is a bit different to In-game
ill do a bug report on it soon but probably not now. Also the Radar is still missing BTW (ill probably do one after the cockpit, but if anyone wanna help with that it would be much appreciated)
Would you perhaps also be willing to do a bug report for the Hawk 209 missing nosewheel steering? And by nosewheel steering, I mean the performance of its turning on the ground, not the animation that’s missing from all planes.
Currently, you have to press both the brake and rudder buttons to get it to turn on the ground (closest thing to differential braking in-game) rather than just pressing the rudder buttons (closest thing to nosewheel steering in-game)
Edit: from what I was able to find, the Hawk models earlier than the Mk 50 didn’t have nosewheel steering, but all others after it (namely Hawk 200s) all had nosewheel steering
I’ve looked a bit more into this when looking at the capabilities of the Polish Mig-29 and for it touse the Aim-9, you would need to have extensively modernised the aircaft (replace a lot of the electrionics) and not just attached it to a pylon which I’m pretty sure is not even compatable with the Aim-9 as its used for the R-73.
I’m writing this from memory as the 2 articles I need don’t have access to, so I will double check that
And btw, this appears to be a live missile. It is an AIM-9L with a cap on the seeker, thus it can be assumed it can be live fired.
Can’t tell which modifications it might have undergone (at least I haven’t seen a dedicated suggestion for the aircraft), but I don’t think it would be slapped on it for images alone
it appears to be LAU-7 of some kind with an interface adapter
It’s basically a self contained unit featuring all the power conversion and gas bottles needed for the Missile, you’d only have to provide data and power.
The Malaysians defiantly have them in inventory, as they’re used by both the Hawks and the F-18Ds.
It’s an AIM-9L (and the launch rail for it) taken from the Hakw 208. It should be able to use AIM-9M as well as that requires no additional changes over the AIM-9L integration.
Personally I hope it gets AIM-9M since there will actually be a use for them next to the R-73E Malaysia operated. But if Gaijin aren’t willing to do that then maybe it could find its place at a lower BR using R-60M and AIM-9L. It would be a shame for something unique like this to be wasted in usual gameplay.
It still appears to be a functional seeker, so with it integrated that implies live missiles could be used as well. I only wonder if it would be integrated with the HMD or not.
