Does anyone know anything about upgrade programmes for the Malaysian Hawk 208s?

there is an article about it, but it’s old

not sure if 208 upgraded their Sky Guardian RWR to Selex SEER one like TNI-AU did

I am not aware of an upgrade programm, but Malaysian Hawk 208 would be the best choice IMO, as its confirmed to be capable of using up four AIM-9s and even a gun pod - things we’ve never seen on Indonesian Hawk 209s.

nah the AGM-84A is a bust, those are just MMP photoshops, I kinda vaguely remember they admit to photoshop the Hawks to carry Harpoon

original photo

not in any way those Harpoons gonna be on wing stores, even the Sea Eagle hardpoint limited to centerline store

ID 209 does have the gunpod, but yes the missile pylon is unknown

man, that’s a heavy hitter one, didn’t thought the Hawk’s wing reinforced so much on 200, was thinking the same situation as F-20

though again, the Harpoon still is a photoshop

Oh yeah no dispute there.

Yeah that’s what I was curious about. + the chance of a T-Pod

Shouldn’t really matter IMO, it’s not like the 208’s use a custom pylon, it’s just the normal one with an rail adapter, given we have both the Gripens and Eurofighters sharing weapons, I think that would be hand-waved away. Especially since 4xAAMs is a feature of the platform.

might be not ig, TNI-AU just got Snipers in recent years but limited to F-16s, RMAF with Damocles way earlier also didn’t try to integrate it on Hawks, ATFLIR is sorta Hornet exclusive

so um, Hawks aside,

they will add Penerbad AH-64E soon as it is available in dev server right now
albeit, added AGM-179 that it doesn’t have

So only the Malaysian ones are decently armed?

in terms of AAM amount maybe

the Indonesian ones typically only fly with 2 aams on the wing tips, nothing to say they can’t take more aams though

I mean as long as its theoretically/technically possible, I don’t see why not.

From my quick glance at Reddit, it looks like the Hawk 208 can carry the AMRAAM (which is pretty funny) and the Sea Eagle

The Sea Eagle would be pretty cool. It has a J-band active radar target seeker which wouldn’t really permit tracking of ground targets like tanks irl (since it’s like 1.5 cm I believe), but since we have the ASM-1 and ASM-2 in WT now, I guess it’s feasible.

has yet to be proven tho
