personally i think its fine for the host nation to get it first, gives it some uniqueness factor for a lil while
Also If I recall correctly the British/Omani/Suid Afrikan version is different from the Malaysian version since they do use different armaments
You’re confusing the Hawk 100 and 200 I think, the UK and ZA never adopted Hawk 200. Hawk 200 is the dedicated fighter version of the Hawk. The UK tree would be getting the BAE demonstrators, either ZG200/ZH200 or ZJ201. Hopefully ZG200/ZH200 as ZJ201, and production models, were never fitted with guns. Instead getting a radar and relying on a 30mm gunpod.
Although that would mean no Skyflash or AMRAAM…
Hawk 200 (ZG200/ZH200)
(Note the gun-ports for the 25mm ADENs under the nose, midway between the rounded nosecone and cockpit)

Stand corrected. That’s an error on my part

The Hawk 200 role wise is supposed to be akin to a F-5 replacement i.e a relatively inexpensive Light Fighter, CAS & Ground Attack aircraft so you are not wrong with that but there’s more to that

Interesting. It means that the UK variant will have a gun regardless but cannot use advanced AAM’s due to lacking a proper radar. While the Malaysian and Indonesian versions have the option to mount the gun or not but can use more advanced AAM’s, the Malaysian and Indonesian variants probably used different ground attack ordinances on top of that from the UK variant. In other words they’re anything but Copy n Paste
the production version opted out the built in gun and instead uses gun pod (huh so that’s why Hawk 200 has boxy underside cockpit never knew that till now)
also for missile options,
the 208 (RMAF) can use either L/M Sidewinders while 209 (TNI-AU) can use up to AIM-9P-5 similar to what they get on F-16 prior AIM-9X purchase

if Gaijin decided not to give IRCCM it may be 10.7 or 11.3, or if they did go crazy it may be 12.0 or 12.3 like Harrier GR.7 but at cost of less countermeasures than the Harrier (*with BOL)
though then again hoping for at least there be T-50i with only 2 IR missiles so there will be variety of choices between Hawk and T-50 on lower BR
IIRC the smart munitions would all be various flavours of Maverick*, though it was was advertised with some interesting dumb munitions, Thomson-Brandt LR 100-4 (TBA Rockets on the French Jags) and BAT-120 bombs.

(also note the ADEN 30mm gunpod underneath the Hawk, AFAIK its the same model as on the Hawk 50/60/100 and Harriers)
*Technically Paveways are compatable, but no T-Pod was intergrated so would need buddy lasing which isn’t in game
Not quite, I probably explained it badly earlier sorry. ZG200 & ZH200 are the prototypes of the Hawk 200 and are missing some things (wing tip AAMs and Radar for example) but gain internal guns. ZJ201 is essentially a Preproduction model with the wing tip rails and radar, but no internal guns.
IIRC they had 9P-4s at some point, either way wouldn’t be the first time they replaced 9P-5s with 9P-4s.
Absolutely, but makes me so happy to see airframes that Indonesia and Malaysia can bring to the table, Indonesia deserves the spot in the void the R2Y2s left
Maybe I’m a bit weird, but I want the Hawk 208 and 209 this update too, especially the 209 as it has some honestly amazing liveries that I’d love to see. (Gawd I love the blue Tricolour)
Though the Hawk 208 looks great from the right angles even with its comparatively “boring” livery, gives strong P-51 Mustang vibes yk?
Hawk 208 Black Stripe

The UK ones are somewhat more boring
Hawk ZH200 Desert

And one that should be mapped on to the 208 imo
the side version for 25th anniv of the Hawks (both 6 Skn and 15 Skn)

the side inlet decals up close

Aye, but it looks sick from the front, even if it’s not as nice as the 209’s Blue scheme overall
also that buff bird is making me giggle I love it
for defaults, here’s their squadron tail decals:

No.6 Skn (M40-26 to -38)

No.15 Skn (M40-22 to -25 and also all the twin seat Hawk 108)
Would make a cool decal. Reminds me of electronic arts class project for my schools sport team.
Love the grey and brown-green bicolors, lovely skins
These vehicles were purchased by their country and modified for their country. Why can’t they appear in the game?
because they show no real difference with those already ingame. The only machine that does not exist ingame now in that tree is BAE HAWK, and only because it still does not exist in british tree where it belongs.
The value of a vehicle isn’t just about its stats. The game is full of similar vehicles included for their historical significance. For players from that country, using a version specifically operated and modified by their nation has unique meaning.
This suggestion in particular has:
- 11 import aircraft not yet in game
- 18 uniquely modified / national variant
- 1 import aircraft entirely unique to its operating nation
Not counting future vehicles and honorable mentions that include:
- 5 import aircraft not yet in game
- 10 uniquely modified / national variant
- 4 domestic (co)developments
- 2 actual copies
And both of the actual copies present are now already in game, being the Thai A-7E and Gripen C
Even generalizing this to the entire family of aircraft like this there is more aircraft included that aren’t in the game yet like the T-28, OV-10, T-610, A-37, AT-6, MB-339, Tu-16 and A-29. This is of course ignoring extensively modified variants and other unique aircraft that didn’t make the final subtree suggestion like the NU-200/225, RTAF-5 or AS.211
As for the Hawk, I also think it might be important to bring up that Indonesia and Malaysia are the main operators of the Hawk 200, with the only other operator (Oman) having less than half the number of aircraft Malaysia alone does.

That’s actually pretty insane, with the first airframe appearing for Britain I think it’s only a matter of time before they start rolling out to other trees, like most things in this game, even the Strela 10 did after being exclusive to USSR for over a year or so, the L-39 was also added a while ago and that should make its way to other trees. I’d love to see the Thai version in early and late format, sure it may be slow but it’s still faster than the A-10 so it should be fine if it gets something like AIM-9P/P4s.
