As someone who is a Japanese main, even China main as well, once Korea comes in well you can say I’m an Asian main overall lol, I wouldn’t mind leaving Philippines to be in the Korea tree as they do get along with SK and all, and I think Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia for Japan are already plenty in my opinion and already leaves Japan to be one of the strongest most well equipped and varied tech trees in this game, the latent potential of content with this Fantastic 4 combo is genuinely immense.
They said they are adding some Indonesian vehicles first, so there might be hope.
Leaves the Filipino FV101 for another tree.
This pleases me
more CVRT copy paste more good
Yeah Philippines has been buying and expressing interest in S. Korean equipment a lot lately, with TH + ID + ML in Japan being plentiful already, let the Korean tree have a 3rd nation like that, even if it’s just event/squadron/premiums
Yeah there really is nothing that I would miss at all from losing PH to a different tree.
Ground
AIFV-25 → ACV-15 MY
M113 FSV → Saladin ID/Scorpion TH/ID and Scorpion 90 MY
M113 UT30 → Like a dozen different IFVs
Sabrah (no independent commanders sight and a whopping 10 second reload on an autoloader) → R600 120mm TH, Pandur 105 ID, Stingray TH
Even planes you get an F-8 with only AIM-9Bs, and the FA-50PH which will ultimately be redundant between the T-50i, T-50TH, FA-50 Blk 20 etc. The only thing that would be missed is the Super Pinto.
Do y’all think Korea will get Poland as a sub TT, or is there a polish vehicle that I’m not recalling?
Not much reason for that
I had a thought, if 6.0 jets isn’t blocked behind premium (eg. Strikemaster battlepass or L-39ZA pack) the Tebuan could be in rank 4 alongside the AURI Mustangs?
RSAF also once operates Strikemaster too apparently so wondering how’d it be for these 2 jets, will both or them bound to premium line or possible to be available on research lines
Definitely not all. 10 countries especially some with questionable ties to Japan is too much.
Japan is getting their ww2 ally Thailand and Indonesia. For some reason Malaysia is also going to be added. No clue why but I’m not complaining about an MKM. Singapore is planned to be split. No mention of the Philippines so far. Japan has no significant ties to countries like Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Brunei.

Malaysia is in a weird spot in the sense that there’s no perfect place for Malaysia to go and Japan is the best option since (despite what some users say) their links to China is rather weak military wise and the Malay majority absolutely loathe the Chinese (remember why Singapore was kicked out of the Malaysian Federation to begin with) and the UK already has enough subtrees as it is. Adding Malaysia will make things worse even if the UK on paper is a better choice than Japan
No mention of the Philippines so far.
Could either go to Japan, Israel, a Future Korean TT or a Future Turkish TT since the Philippines does have a surprisingly important relationship with Turkey helped by the fact that the Philippine army use a lot of equipment of Turkish origin. Only time will tell
Japan has no significant ties to countries like Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Brunei.
Vietnam does have some significant ties to Japan (both South Vietnam and even North Vietnam), similar story with Myanmar but to a lesser extent. Either way I’m fine if China gets Myanmar instead of Japan since in the context of Myanmar, their ties to China and even Israel is overall stronger than Japan. Harder to justify to add Vietnam to the Chinese, Korean or Israel TT’s (even if all 3 of them did contribute to Vietnamese weapon procurement & upgrades in some capacity)
Brunei is a massive question mark in the sense of how they are going to be represented in WT at all.
You are right with Laos and Cambodia though
Nah, leave Poland for an Eastern European type of tree
Philippines going to the Korea tree would be the most ideal in my opinion, this is from someone who has Japan as 1 of my main trees, and I am a huge fan of Asian vehicles and weapons in general so I will for sure grind up Korea when it comes, Philippines can potentially fill some small gaps and offer event vehicles as well. I did also defend that if gaijin wants to give China some kind of partial subtree they can bring over Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia, Vietnam is hard because Vietnamese really don’t like China so it’s better if Vietnam gets their stuff spread around mostly the USSR or something like that
Yeah that sounds right
Figures
Sorry I should’ve clarified. In that context it was comparing them to Thailand and Indonesia.
Unless I’m missing something, which please do elaborate.
What Brunei got? If I not mistaken their military is just like a Malaysia Malay infantry regiment during 80s (equipment wise)
Worse:
Their only armour are 76mm Scorpions.
There’s been rumours of them being interested in buying Harimau from Indonesia or T-90S but eh nothing has really come from them.
The military is mostly a peace keeping force, defence wise they mostly rely on defence agreements with the UK, and the British Army base there. (Air wise it’s mostly just unarmed transport planes and helicopters, although they do have some S-70i helicopters with the wings, but only mounting fuel tanks, I guess you could fudge it though and give it hellfires, they do have the TGP mounted)
Personally, when we do get a Scorpion I’d love a Brunei skin.
there is also a rumour that they interested on Anoa but still not bought till this day although they do have VAB’s
but yeah in general Brunei don’t have anything interesting to add on the table
there is also a time Brunei was offered with F-16, Gripen and T-50
Did they not test a lot of stuff? Especially specifically made models for there import requirements right up until the financial issues struck?
yeah seems this is the only report it has, there no follow ups like sending evaluator team by TUDB on each of these jets, well, that I could find about
