As a community we need to, and need to be able to, report 1 death leavers

Exatcly, most match now are decided extremly fast especially at top tier, when I decide to spawn again it’s never to be able to win

If you quit a match with 2 vehicles you will get a crew lock.

I constantly see the same complaints about the game.

I can guarantee that even if the devs fixed everyone’s issues and the game became perfect, we would still have ODLs. They will come up with every excuse known to man to justify it.

They complained it was too expensive to spawn another vehicle. Vehicle repair cost were lowered.

They complained about backups. We now have free backs(and even if those weren’t added, we have backups that are extremely easy to obtain for free)

They even added extra vehicles to spawn and we still have people leaving.

Literally every other game punishes people for leaving matches early(including this one!) what makes you think it won’t work?

What does being a vet player have to do with anything?

It’s already been addressed. They gave free backups and extra vehicles to spawn.

Punish paying customers? That sounds more like giving special treatment to people who pay.

This, I feel, is a consequence of my point.

Let’s say you go and get 1000 or 2000 score in your first or second (backup) life.

You look at the map.

Lots of blue, no red. All 3 capture points held.

No point respawning: you’ll drive around with nothing to do.

So you leave.

Someone else dies. They come to the same conclusion.

Suddenly the assured victory turns into a come back.

“Legitimate” accourding to what “law”?

When I ODL, I do have reasons for it. But if they are legitimate is decided by the game rules, which can be changed.

A long time ago someone suggested that the spawn points of quitters should be spread around the stayers. I wonder if that would help?

The issue can’t be fixed by Gaijin, if you look for past grievances they claimed you’ll notice Gaijin amended most of them and guess what? they still do it. Remember when it was about not having backups? or when it was about repair prices? now they get TWO free vehicles they didn’t even need to research and buy PLUS free backups. Still leave after one death

No law, the fact that this is a non-competive game and people wan’t a fun game, thing that sometime is garenteed to not be the case

Like personaly if I play above 6.3 I ONLY play for nukes, and last game I got a map I hate and died on instantly, why would I ever stay? Why would I bother

Probaby, but the amount would be greatly reduced. However I’d still rather have people die once without doing anything, than die 4 times without doing anything.

The extra vehicles are completely stock and not worth playing.

None of those still fix the core issue of the maps, and overall balance being bad.

No it won’t. It wasn’t reduced with the extra vehicles and backups.

The bonus vehicles being stock is dumb, but they are still a free option.

Maps are always gonna be ass, balance is always going to be ass.

Balance being ass is partially on the ODLs as they skew vehicle statistics and cause some nations to perform poorly since they lose all the time.

What exactly has Gaijin fixed - besides giving a free backup.

Once again, lowered prices on repairs for vehicles.

Gave free backups.

Added extra vehicles for free.

This is ALL part of the same thing. How are you just dismissing the rest of the reasons players leave a battle?

Many of the maps are still terrible
Squads still enter the battles with severely undertiered vehicles
Full BR uptiers still happen way too often

And then there’s things that can’t be fixed
dumbass teammates that form lemming trains to one cap when there are 3
teammates that just camp. ALL. BATTLE. LONG

I’m not dismissing these things, I’m naming reasons people have cited though the years, as the reason they leave battles.

I’ve had this argument with people though the years. They pointed to the cost of vehicles, that was changed.

They said they don’t have backups, those were provided.

They said they don’t have another vehicle, those were provided.

We all entered into an agreement when we play this game and made our accounts. You can’t dictate how people are gonna play, it’s like that with literally anything. If anything, being able to just ODL with no punishment encourages the bad playstyle. I’ve been playing for over 12 years at this point and I’ve heard every excuse but it comes down to the simple fact that the people who do it are selfish and will find a new “reason” no matter what happens and the fact that we can’t agree that leaving after 1 death is a toxic trait…that just speaks volumes tbh.

I’ll give you a quick example, I had a match with our top player having 7 kills and we had all points.

He died, left the match. Slowly but surely, my team mates left while we had a crazy advantage…guess what happened? The other team out numbered us and eventually took all points, then pushed into our spawn. GG.

Exactly.

So if, after seeing my team mail it in again, I decide to PLAY with 1 vehicle, that’s my prerogative.

In light of your statement above, campaigning for me to be punished for that would be hypocritical.

That doesn’t work in literally any other game. A team mate is doing poorly? You can’t control that, but you can control your actions.

While being generally in favour of a controll of some sort, I would not structure it around ODL alone.

I would favor something a bit more open. You may leave if any one of these conditions is met.

  • you stayed long enough
  • you scored high enough
  • some condition about the spawn point is met (camping)
  • whatever else may make sense, like number of spawns etc.

If you quit before, I would not use any direct penaltry like exclusion from play BUT these consequences:
-no rewards of any sort (tasks, events, SL, RP etc.) from this game, including the premium features.
-no rewards from the next game within say 6 hours.

This will not stop people from playing at all. Or from quitting. It will however remove the very common incentives of early quitting to speed up the grind of “whatever”. Because now early quitting will halt your grind.

‘Waah waah! People aren’t wasting their time & giving me free kills! Waah!’ - The thread.

On a more serious note, consider the following: Lineups with 1 vehicle.
