ARMs Highlight the Need for In-Battle Loadout Editing

The Time Has Come to Allow Loadout Editing During Battle

Why?

Let’s take the Su-22M3 as an example for the next major update.

Before spawning, I have to choose between different Kh-58U seeker combinations.

Because Ground RB matchmaking is random rather than historical, I have no way of knowing which nation I will face in the next battle.

Since loadouts cannot be edited during a match, I am forced to create multiple presets just to cover the different Kh-58U combinations:

A + A
B + B
C + C
A + B
A + C
B + C

That is already six presets dedicated only to Kh-58U configurations.

On top of that, I need separate CAS\CAP loadouts for each setup of these six: unguided bombs, unguided rockets, laser-guided weapons, air to air missiles and so on.

For the Su-22 alone, this can easily result in 18 or more presets just to cover the available CAS, CAP and SEAD options.

All of this complexity would disappear if players could edit their loadout during battle before spawning.

A single preset could then be adjusted according to the current situation, including:

  • Available spawn points
  • Enemy SPAA radar bands
  • Map layout
  • Team composition
  • Other tactical considerations

Allowing in-battle loadout editing would reduce unnecessary preset clutter, improve quality of life, and let players make informed tactical decisions based on the actual battlefield conditions.
