Any guesses as to why the Italian PSO kit, which is thicker than the one on the Leopard, is half as effective?

I guess it’s because the leopard one is modern
the base armor of the leo is just higher with nera components i guess
both are from the 2000s
it is because gaijin hates Italy, but no really its because the PSO on the Ariete was a prototype. so it likely had less components, and why it is bigger is likely because again it is a prototype and less compact
Italian add-on armor is modelled just to implement it to the game without consideration of available information, just a pure assumption based on some prejudices against Italian armor, they don’t even have a correct weight btw.
