Agreed, one would think improving the Ariete would be in Gaijin’s best interest, it would give more people a reason to grind the tree and more importantly make their premium Ariete sell more. In its current state I’d see it being removed pretty quickly.
Yeah, especially hull armor.
To prove this i think I’ve never seen a Certezza in any game since its relase ( maybe I’m unlucky), but I’ve seen a lot of premium Centauros, meaning that no one sees it as appealing in the slightest.
I know that many will say “just play the Leopard”, but I’m quite tired of Leo vs Leo combat at top tier and I wish to see more variety in the long run.
I also personally find the C1 AMV a lot funner than the Leopard, only thing really holding it back is armor. (And also IRL AMV PT1 got War+PSO kit)
Well, it has been made now. Italian Army receives the first upgraded Ariete C2 series tank (press release by Iveco Defence Vehicles)
The thing can also optionally mount active protection system (which wasn’t mentioned in the original post), but obviously the delivered units don’t have it mounted out-of-the-box (I guess they could add it as a modification, to make it more competitive in BR 12.0)
You are late😛
The CIO updated its infographic about the Ariete, confirming the modular nature of its armor package and, above all, the fact that both the hull and the turret have composite in them.
Don’t think it can be more clear than this.
Maybe one day we’ll see this implemented.
Have you considered the possibility that Gaijin doesn’t care? I mean we’ve seen the bug reports being denied for mundane reasons. This one was accepted and passed as a suggestion instead of a correction, TWO YEARS ago. Like, it’s a modern, top tier MBT and it has the armour equivalent of a late WW2/cold war tank? All we can do is make memes about how minor nations suffer.
No, I think they care. They care to actively prevent CERTAIN minor nations from being their full potential, heck even a fourth of their full potential.
I think it’s pretty obvious from the Chinese that gaijin only cares about nations who complain the most, and essentially bribes them to be quite.
Because most minor nation mains are more respectful, we never get anything, and when we do it’s way over hyped for something small and broken.
Example: literally this entire current battle pass season.
C13/TUA (which I really appreciate, but I mean gaijin is going to great lengths about it being such a big deal, when they could have added plenty of squadron vehicles YEARS ago and I mean what they are adding isn’t unique from dev perspective, it is two models that already exist blended together)
I feel that something has shifted in the past few years in gaijin management, whilst they have always obviously been cash oriented (as is the legally must be), they have recently been heavily cutting corners with the actual game itself.
With the recent BR decompression at top tier now would be an excellent time to give Italy it’s best Ariete, given that no Ariete is top BR anymore.
They won’t fix VDM it seems
Iirc the sentence about composite armor was the same in the previous version of webpage, as well as in brochures. I remember that when we asked @BlueBeta about it, he said that in Italian there is a word used which can mean both spaced and composite armor. Anyway it seems to fix anything on Ariete protection, we need either exact composition description or better claims in official sources, against what exact shells and at what distance should each element protect, so far I kinda give up on this.
Wait what?
Dammit
Like almost all the reports have been denied with “not enough information”, and yes we obviously have enough information
CJ time, again
