I’m playing with my F-15C MSIP II, and I’m noticing the great disparity in combat with the EF-2000 counterpart and Rafale, which seem to have significantly better avionics and defensive properties. Let me explain better, flying low almost close to the ground, it seems that my aim-120A are incapable of hitting them if they do the same thing, but unlike them they seem to succeed without problems, since between AIM-120 A and B there shouldn’t be any big differences or none at all (at least in game) the only thing I can think of is that it’s the avionics. another thing I noticed is that often both the EF2K and the Rafale manage to completely disappear from the TWS while they seem to be able to maintain lock continuously. in close combat there is no problem, the 2 4.5s are clearly more competitive, and while I am still closing the turn they already have the nose and probably fired the missile. I had a few less problems with the F-16 which at least seems to fare better in dog fighting. I would also add that now at the top tier, having a stock plane without modifications is a mechanism that is no longer sustainable, it’s like going to the dealer to buy the car and having it paid for at the price of a new one, but they have given you used things which you will then have to pay change you and spend even more money or they don’t even give you some options, which should already be included in the car, and it’s a mechanic that I’ve always found absurd in WT and which is greatly resented at the top tier, so to speak, at top tier since there are radar-guided missiles, it should be the case that the plane has chaffs, but instead you have to look for them, and this thing is ridiculous.
Having made these observations, I would like to know your opinion on the matter, because I am noticing a significant gap, and I am not biased because my favorite plane is precisely the EF-2000 given that it is one of the planes of my country’s air force, so I’m absolutely not trying to bring the discussion to a nerf because I want the F-15 to be better and the other planes mentioned to be worse, but I just want to understand if it’s just me who notices these things, or is it as it always happens that when gaijin puts out new vehicles, they’re OP at first, and then they get scaled down?
theres no planes that can counter EFT
at least - in everything
F-15E is a perfectly reasonable counter to the typhoon. Just don’t try to dogfight it. Given the F-15s overwhelming dominance the past 6 months, it’s nice that other nations now have a chance
F15E and even F15C are perfectly capable against the Typhoon. Rafale require significantly more effort to do well in, even though it’s a very strong plane in its own way. Right now the only nation that’s still lagging behind is Russia. China has the J-10 which is very solid and a M2K as well.
F-15C MSIP II is quite literally EF-2000 equivalent.
And there is no difference between AIM-120A and B in-game at this time.
All you have to do is just don’t dogfight in air RB.
in the last 6 months I haven’t played because I took a break, in fact I’m recovering because I missed the last F15. what I don’t understand, however, is why both the Typhoon and the Rafale have such disproportionate success with their missiles compared to the F-15, especially if I fly low. I’ll try to watch some videos and understand if maybe I’m doing something wrong in the way I fight and use missiles.
Do not rely upon Multipathing, if that is your only defensive strategy then that is why you are dying. Typhoon has the ability to climb and operate well at altitude which mitigates multipathing greatly. You have to notch and chaff.
At this moment in time. Id say the F-15 actually holds the advantage over the Typhoon because the Typhoons radar is a buggy placeholder that barely works. No where near the power or performance it should be.
yesterday I played in the simulation, and I saw that if I maintain a good altitude and fire my 120 A aims, even if they are close to the ground they are killed badly if the missile reaches them perpendicularly, and it is almost a guaranteed kill, while the lower you stay the more the missile will have a linear trajectory and due to the attempt to anticipate the target it will make a mistake and will fall too soon, therefore paradoxically having altitude and being a better target for their radars and missiles if I have altitude and shoot first and run in defense has more possibilities than attempting an attack from below. at least yesterday in the sim it worked, in realistic it’s different because there’s the hairball there, and killing third parties so it doesn’t matter.
That is multipathing. If the target is below 60m, the missile will hit the ground. But fired from above multipathing is mitigated
