Are the Ki-100 stats wrong?

I just got a 5 kill game in a half spaded Ki-100 and I don’t know how it happened! I didn’t have any tier 3 or 4 mods unlocked and I managed to out dogfight a yak 3, yak 9u, F8F, yak 9T and an F4u.

These were all good kills no simple head-on lucky shots. I had a really good fight with the yak-3 and managed to out manoeuvre it in a rolling scissor, which I thought was just lucky on my part but then I got in to a turn fight with the yak 9u and won that as well.

Finally I managed to win a 2 v 1 with a low F4u and yak 9T. Looking at the stat card at least the yak 3, F8F and yak 9u should out turn me and yet I was easily able to get the better of them.

So my question is, does the Ki-100 perform better than the stat card says?

The turn time on the stat card isn’t accurate basically, they technically are but not in an applicable way. That turn time listed does not specify the speed at which the turn is done at it just says the “minimum”, and this can affect the turn time of a plane very significantly. Different planes have different optimal speeds for turning, and will perform differently at different altitudes. This is also the time for a horizontal turn, and adding any verticality into manouvers can also affect the actual turnrate in any given situation.

I find the Ki-61s (which the Ki-100 is a family member) are very underestimated. They often do awesome in battles, but their stat cards (especially climb rate) show them as terrible.

I play with the ki100 2, but it’s really bad with turns and speed, in RB I can easily win in 1vs1 against most planes with the use of flaps and speed reduction, but in SB the disgustin ki61, a6m2, xp55 (especially with this one), american f4u win if they chase you first, it’s also very difficult against spit or re2000, but in general it’s good in the first turn and with lift at low speed.

What would you have done, if all those planes kept their speed up?
All of them fumbled fighting you, because the one thing Japanese planes are consistently good at is low speed fighting. Your opponents gave you all the advantages you needed in order to win. If they take a rolling scissor with you, you both slow down.

Stat cards do not give you correct information. The performance differences between planes are much more intricate than a number that is automatically calculated in a condition you don’t even know.

I consider the Ki-100 to not be very good, because of its low speed, mediocre climb, and turn characteristics that aren’t good enough for how slow it is (it will lose to other slow, well turning planes).
