Spike LR-2 or any other variation are pure garbage. They are supposed to be one of the best missiles on the game,
Just fire and get another target but its damage doesn’t really help, mostly, if hitting something, just disable some critical parts like breech or tracks.
But the currently behavior is terrible.
In my case I play some vehicles with Spike LR-2 but I always forget they’re there. Like, they’re so unreliable that I just forget about its existence.
The more modern vehicles and IFVs added to the game will pressure the devs to finally “fix” Spikes, since only a few had them to begin with, so it was probably at the bottom of the priority list.
given how much everyone would cry if they where tv guided like they are supposed to be, they will never be fixed. a literal god can join the russian TT but may the earth burn if OTOMATIC has full APFSDS load or spikes are actually more useful than a goddamn katyusha
The Tiger’s PARS 3 are in the same condition. My record was 8 hits from different angles on a Challenger 2 Black Night. And after that, mind you, it wasn’t destroyed and only lost the commander.
It regularly takes 5 hits for an MBT. IFVs are gambling. Sometimes a oneshot, sometimes you need 4 rockets.
And since a bug recently prevented overpressure damage to SPAAS, they have been almost indestructible.
However, I confess that I haven’t played Tiger UHT since the update and whether the bug still exists.
But even without a bug, the PARS 3 are terribly bad. And the Spike is obviously no better.
Well, you are also shooting at a Russian vehicle and then at a German vehicle. It will not work. Just like so many things in the German technology tree
The reason is simple. Russia has no counterpart for it in the game thus it has to be nerfed to oblivion.
Till this day the Spike LR2 on the Lynx is called Spike LR2MR ATGM.
Maybe when the LMUR is added, the Spikes might get buffed closer to their realistic performance
I just had a battle on Kursk in my Lynx. Came across a Namer, and suprise suprise, the Strikeshield APS defeated its Spike LR 2 because it was ofc not top attack, but almost flying horizontally at the back of my IFV.
Did Gaijin ever manage to simulate true top attack ?
