Are R77-1 unaffected by multipathing?

Cause they keep fatally hitting me, even very low, infact below tree top alt. I’m scratching the ground, but R77-1 are somehow alway hitting me.

What conditions? If missiles were launched from high altitude they will hit.

It’s not just the altitude, but if you fire a missile at a downwards 70-90 degree angle, the missile will be unaffected by multipathing. Pus Su-30s (especially the SM2s) are usually up high relative to most other planes in my observations.

I’m shoting from high alt all the time. When I do missile cam on my AIM-120C I clearly see the green radar marker several plane lenghts off the enemy jet (guess meant to be ground clutter), make me miss. So MP works when the target is low.

You kinda just repeated what he said. Because to fire one at a downwards 70-90° on an enemy u kinda have to be at altitude lmao

And the R-77 has a bigger warhead, so the damage is higher.

This might be an explanation. Gajin should adjust something. Just had another game where a Suchoi scored 5 kills in Air RB. Seems to happen on a regular base. What once was the Rafale menace, is now the R-77-1 + Suchois. Dreadfully op. They seem to just effordlessly farm low flying planes. AAMs are dispersing fragmentation into flight direction. A forwards oriented cone. They shouldn’t rip off wings like a HE 1000lb bomb, when they hit the ground next to a plane. In fact, when they hit into the ground, they shouldn’t do any splash damage. The explosion power + fragments are all directed into the ground. Not a 360 deg effect.

Skill issue. Every other Fox-3 can do the same if it’s launched from above. Learn how to notch.

Dont fly low. And I mean this unironically. Youre just gimping yourself.

Speed and alt, or energey advantage overall, is the key.

You need to fly low for the bases and pillboxes. But what are these mission targets good for, when high flying jets just lock and shot everything.

Its said multipath 50m, so it should mean anyone flying low should be safe from these nonsense radar missiles. This usually works ok, except noticed R77-1 seems to ignore the multipath mechanic.

Its especially unfair cause with aim120 you basically never hit anything near the ground or also farther away. Above 15, 20 km no hope to get kills.

What are you flying that it requires you to go for pillboxes and can meet R-77-1 naturally?

also if you go for ground targets when enemy team is still up, thats kinda on you.

I’m trying to grind the event 40.000 points all two days. It only works when you go for ground stuff. Hunting enemy players cost too much time and efford. Best is with bombing bases and gun down some static npc. It quickly generates match points. Rather than doing all the pvp nonsense…climbing and notching and do all these pointless missilile jousts, which rarely gets you a kill with aim120.

To shake off an enemy missile takes time and gives no income. Evasion of missiles gets you nothing, but its the main thing you have to waste your time high up. Unfortnately with R77-1 you never get a base.

1 hour 44 minutes for the first star of this event, with 19 games and average length of one game being 5 minutes 31 seconds.

With rank VIII, it was only 13480 “raw” score before multipliers for single star.

More than doable with PvP only.

You probably just need to be an elite player. But whatever I lock, is not hit or just killed by someone else. So there should be an alternative, like grinding npc and R77-1 makes it impossible. In other BRs you can also bomb bases. But top tier RB is idiotic, its outright impossible.

far from it.

I used to have same issue until I realized its matter of speed and alt, ie. having enough energy before launch, thus giving the missile faster time to target and the enemy less time to defend.

whenever ground attackers are viable in current ARB or not is another different matter. Sadly, they currently are not.

Im not gonna tell you how you should grind the event, but top tier PvP is both faster and more profitable on average than going for bases or ground units, as you dont die as often trying to reach ground targets.

Multipath worked. There is no reason to deny NPC activity to the players. Adding op stuff which somehow prevents effective MP?? Why? Can’t they just stick to 50m as relative safe zone? This radar meta just goes too far.

Some missiles should have even lower MP alt. Its just how things are. Modern missile isnt going to be affected by MP.

Is there somehow a way to quickselect at least the nearest radar contact? Its all a bit confusing. The amount of contacts is staggering,
