Are guns broken in arb?

Is it just me or do guns not work rn ? I tried top tier. 11.3 30mm guns. 4.3 hispanos, shvaks. Guns just dont seem to do damage right now. Am I going inside ?

Yeah I tried grinding germany and anything under 30mm just did absolutely nothing even on hits. Might be biased but I think something is wonky about the guns

Normaly id just say skill issue to both of us but consider how the update has been going I feel like its a bug

Things are still screwed up, better but still for me not worth touching air atm.

It takes like 60 shells to down one plane even in the lowest tier where 20mms are available. My viggens 30mm has about 70 grams of he filler and I kid you not it takes me a solid 30 shells to down one plane rn. Normaly it takes me about a single shell to just take their wing off

Seems fuses are broken not only for missiles but also with HE belt.

And I think Gaijin is only aware about missile bug atm.

looking at it some more, look at the left wing lmfao, 2 30mm rounds and that thing is the palest yellow I’ve seen

I don’t think the fuses are broken for the HE belt just looking at the visual damage, but maybe thats correct too.

Maybe I imagined this but I was sure hit a Bf 109 on the ground with 37mm AP shells from a P-63 and my rounds just phased through him.

I think the issue is somehow related to the projectile type. If it’s designated „cannon shell“ instead of „bullet“ it will simply have spark modifier set to 100% and rounds pass through without actual damage, only spawning hit effects with no damage.

So I think it’s not related to explosive shells.

I did reply to you on the bugreport. The issue is that you’re using AP dude, you’re just overpenning the BF-109 without hitting anything major.

Dude, even when AP passed through the wings, it would still give a hit indicator instead of nothing.
The way ammo is modeled even a couple of 37mm AP rounds are still causing structural damage to a wing, even when they hit nothing else.

I’m playing the game for like 8 years now. I don’t need a lecture in how ammo works.

The sole reason I was even using AP was because I new about the cannon bug and expected it only effected explosive shells.

So why should I load HE shells when they are supposed to be bugged and don’t deal damage?

They go straight through enemies, you only damage what you hit. Therefore, if you hit a wing spar, thats all that will get damaged. While the HE rounds are broken, I would recommend not playing the P-63 as the only ammo types for the 37mm are HE and AP, just play something else.

Ki-61-I guns (air target) seem to work just fine in custom battles.

I havnt tried in a live match because I cant find anyone without air duel map helping.

Does it have HE/HEF/HEI-T rounds in the belt? Those are what are broken as of right now.

20mm: AP-I/HEI/HEI/HEI/HEI/IT

12.7 mm: AP-T/HEF-I/HEF-I/HEF-I

However, interestingly it does not say “critical damage” when I shot wingtips off (Hellcats, mostly.) Instead, it just said hit as I watched the wingtip fall off.

Fwiw, I shoot from 150-300 meters with 300m convergence.

I’ve been getting lots of “Hits” with my DEFA 30mms, switching to ground belts (APIT) Gonna see how that works out
