Overpressure is not overperforming in War Thunder.
Half the time it’s under-performing, and half the time it performs as it should.
The community doesn´t want APHE to be realistic ? Then that standard has to stand for all the other ammunition aswell.
APHE is ridiculousely powerfull in comparisen to its real world counterparts, so everything else needs to be powered up to the same cartoony level.
HE needs to create alot of spalling, damaging pretty much everything on the tank to some degree and cause atleast some level of overpressure if it breakes through somewhere.
HESH needs to create an absolute storm of spall, doing lesser then HE, but still significant amounts of Area of Effect damage and overpressure.
HVAP and SABOT need to be utter railgun shoots, similar to APFSDS.
HEAT and HEAT-FS need to reliably blow up light and unarmored vehicles, will also reliably penetrating and create spalling. It should be the allrounder round that replaces APHE down the line, will still being noticable different.
Good ol AP should be reliably penetrating and creating serious amounts of spall everytime it hits something that can create spall, even when its not a penetration.
Time fused shells should magicly explode when they would create the most damage, HE, Shrapnel, no matter what kind it is. lets say the crew had a vision of the future.
Only by buffing all other shells in just as unrealistic ways as gaijins current OP APHE. We will actually get a viable balance.
Unless the community gives nerfing APHE to realistic levels, another shot.
Personal experience says otherwise. Heavy damage to a tank is fine, but the killing of the crew so easy is pure unrealistic. I wouldn’t be typing this if it were.
Don’t mistake APHE over-performing due to incorrect dispersion of explosion as overpressure itself over-performing.
Both overpressure not over-performing and APHE over-performing can be true at once in this case.
I’m only referring to the overpressure aspect on the HE side.
