Anyone else Noticed the british 12k bomb doesn't work anymore?

9kt blast and it only lost the side skirts, radio antennas and the optics where toast due to being sand blasted, other than that it just needed a fresh tank of fuel and they drove it back home (before decontaminating it unfortunately). It was then upgraded to MK5 and served in Vietnam.

A Centurion, with No Crew, Survived a Air burst Nuke. WOW.

There is a distinct difference in how Conventional and Nuclear explosions behave.

Read up on that before you say something like that.

As for the “Skill issue just aim better” I Dropped the fuckin bomb in the middle of a enemy HORDE, on a flat map.

This map specifically. It landed RIGHT HERE.

In the middle of the 3 way intersection, with tanks ALL AROUND THE BOMB. and it still did nothing.

Lol maybe it’s a good thing, it encourages players to keep the fight on the ground by making aerial unit useless because the game mode is called ground battles bro

sure, conventional bombs rely a lot more on fragmentation then on blast waves but large bombs like the 5000kg-6000kg bombs in question also rely more on blast damage than on fragmentation as blast waves are far more reliable for destroying buildings so that is what they were designed for

so your point is kinda meaningless

you got the replay?

Honestly, I’d love if bombs actually did more flipping or interaction with the vehicles. Then again, that requires team work to help you so maybe that’ll just be a bigger issue it creates.

you used to get flipped by them from time to time, but I haven’t seen it in so long I had forgotten it happened until you mentioned it.

Bombs just suck now

They disabled it due to the Napalm glitch.

Forgive the Camera work, never used the frecam, The bomb lands A little after the plane flys through the view. and it does litterally nothing to anything nearby.

A Month ago that would have nuked half the team.

I know because i’ve done it before with that bomb, on that map.

Its also a little blury, i had to compress the hell out of the recording to get it small enough to post.

Bomb is THERE.

Bro what

No kills is wild

not your fault the replay camera controls are godawful

pretty sure this was changed last year

i think you mostly just fell victim to the janky cover mechanics, like the tiger 2 is behind hard cover, the tiger E is kinda behind that dead tank and partially behind the same cover as the tiger 2, and the pz4/70 is the worst offender cause he didnt even get hit by the fragments of the bomb cause it didnt mark him like it did for both the tigers
image

also you did get the barrel and both tracks of the tiger 2 who was the closest

yeah sure it wouldve been different before the nerf, cause both the tiger 2 and pz4/70 are rougly 0.05km (gaijin rounding it could be 46-55m) away but the nerf had good reason (they werent modelling the inverse square law properly previously (i believe it was something like none of the explosive force was directed at the ground at all or something, not sure)

also you were seconds away from teamkilling your PBJ-1 lmao

We have historical records of near misses from large HE shells, e.g Petard’s bin, landing near tanks and demolishing the crew’s internal organs. Meanwhile, ingame, if you drop a 1,000lb bomb on a Tiger 2 with a fuse, then the few feet it bounces away is enough to mitigate all damage with exception to external stuff like tracks.

people complain enough about overpressure as is, i dont think anyone would be happy with shockwaves affecting crew

plus this maybe was covered by the vote gaijin had for battleshock from shells ricocheting

battleshock is not the same. Shockwaves traveling through metal are the primary means through how explosives kill crew. I would be very happy if explosives were made actually consistent.

i dunno if battleshock is the right word, but shells ricocheting would just cause magnitudes smaller shockwaves so its still kinda related to pressurewaves shuffling up your internal organs

Battleshock and shockwaves have nothing to do with eachother. One is air pressure, and the other is a mental response to excessive stimuli. If shockwaves were properly modeled, then they would simply damage/kill crew. Battleshock would be a stun mechanic.

Well take advance to rhine, where A flag is on that statue.
I dropped 6 tonner right on flag, enemy tank was right under those stairs of statue, and quess what?
It only took out roof MG from it.

Such an joyful second, tank was 6m away from bomb, but because that bomb exploded 2m above that tank, there is no shockwave doesnt hit it

They fixed that!?!
