Like genuinely, I dropped this thing in a area where there were probably 10 tanks within a 100m radius. I got 3 hits. No kills, no critical damage.
Just HITS.

They added couble mechanics that can effect large bombs high explosive equivelency, such as directional shock wave concentration that can get disrupted by sourounding enviornment.
Including The bomb is being dropped on the ground, some of the shock wave will be directed upwards, unlike some of the bombs that in real life have pre detonation above the ground to improve damage.
They also added other more mechanics that they dont show publicly fearing some unwanted comments.
Something tells me that doesn’t apply to the PE8…
They nerfed all large bomb damage, anything bigger than 500lb is affected really, and in the case of the really big bombs, they’re useless now.
That would explain how i’ve dropped 1000LB bombs on Panthers and not done anything other than break tracks.
For what reason was there to even DO THIS?
Id have nerfed small bombs first.
Russian 100kg, and Japanese 60kg bombs are basically nukes that can kill tanks from Meters away.
They nerfed bombs with the introduction of infantry mode.
There was 100% a way to nerf them For infantry, and not absolutely screw over bombs with 6000+KG of TNT equivalent of Explosive filler.
I mean you tell me with a straight face that 6000KG of TNT is gonna just gonna fail to damage tanks at all, when they are within 100m of the damn explosion.
why does it have to apply to vehicles?
garbage Spaghetti code thats gonna be the downfall of this game.
I recon the Reverse glitch thats currently being exploited to hell and back also ties into them Trying to force infantry into a game that doesn’t need it.
They fixed a bug a while back that had been making very large bombs much more powerful than they should be, might be that if you haven’t played in a while
“A Bug that made 6000kg of explosive less powerful than it should be”
Are yah DAFT?
its 6,357kg of Torpex. AKA 14016lbs of TNT. or SEVEN TONS.
The 4000lb version of the bomb was literally designed to level entire city blocks.
Tanks less than 100m away should not be taking NO damage.
The over pressure wave off that alone should be turning crews of tanks to paste even a couple HUNDRED meters away.
Hell the Sound of MG42’s shooting at the UFP’s of Shermans was enough to make the crews lose their hearing completely.
God forbid a SEVEN TON BOMB kill a tank not even 100m away from it.

This is what a 16in HE shell barely missing a Tiger does for gods sake.
It does, thats why almost no one use the pe8 anymore, also the 8000kg bomb of the tu95m is garbage rn
they nerfed them at roughly the same time as infantry was released, its doesnt necessarily mean it was because of infantry
the nerf applied to all bombs, just because of math (surfacearea:volume) it had more of an effect on larger bombs

the 54m is only the radius of absolute destruction
the radius of any effect of the bomb is 374m which i believe was increased when this nerf happened
it was always going to be, its a ground penetrating bomb, just like how the grand slam probably wont be added because its barely got more explosive than the 12000lb bomb even though it weighs twice as much
The destruction radius was increasing disproportionately to the increase in explosive mass, to double the radius you need to cube the amount of explosives. What we have now is closer to that than it was before.
Lethal radius for the Fab-9000 is documented at 57m for infantry while disabling them out to 225m.
Unfortunately the power of the bomb decreases fast due to the inverse square law. But I think they overdid it, large bombs should not be doing nothing to a tank a small distance away.
Tanks are a lot more resistant to blast waves than wooden buildings. Hell, a Centurion survived a 9,000 blast at only 400m, and they drove it away a couple days later! a measly 6 tonne bomb isn’t going to do much against a tank behind a hill. I’d recommend aiming a little closer- you still vaporize anything in a 50m radius, that’s not exactly a small target.
