Anyone else disappointed in the april fools event?

If you never think about what you’re allegedly researching, War Thunder’s gameplay loop is identical to that of DCS: Go into a match, see if you can kill some things, leave/die [win/lose].
War Thunder’s primary gameplay loop is the game modes, not progression.
Progression is a symptom of activities, not the cause.

They are a decent company. As good as Eagle Dynamics.
If your life is so busy that you lack free time, that is something the game cannot be blamed for.

My motive with you is to help you improve your mood, nothing more.
You can call critiques and analysis shilling all you want, but I’ll still try to help through offering perspectives that seem to help others.
I barely used the old forum BTW.

Wish the pony mode was in the “MAIN” game, shame its stuck to the second hand mobile version.

I’ve watched Mad Max Fury Road at least 5 times, and beat the game.
Enjoy some Alvis lore.

Dunno why Gaijin insists on being so stingy for the rewards for these events. Playing these events is already something of an ask for players, since you’re going to be playing War Thunder and getting nothing for it (Some previous events actually cost SL to play), and now they’ve added a grind to it all for very low value to worthless rewards. My inventory is full of decals from previous events I don’t want and cannot get rid off.

When you train players with such a grind based gameplay model, they’re inevitable going to feel ripped off when you try to get them to play something that gives zero rewards, even if the gameplay is something novel.

They could very easily sprinkle in some relatively cheap rewards to entice people to play it. Some cheap low tier premiums, a few days premium time, chunks of SL, ~100 GE, maybe even some RP you could allocate to a vehicle you’re currently grinding, etc. This would cost Gaijin next to nothing, reward people tangibly for playing the new event, and generate consumer goodwill all in one.

Event usually plays out like this for me:
Try and get to resources ahead of your teammates, usually get pit maneuvered or run into building
Gather some resources if lucky, fling a shot at some target then dip to try and extract
Get insta sniped from 4k by the stupid 40mm car OR get extract camped like its Tarkov (a very big reason I stopped playing that game)

So if you dont get resources you dont get the better cars, which means you really cant get the resources so you cant get resources etc etc

As i mentioned before in some similiar post i am not a fan of extraction “shooter” games , so i played a couple matches and went back to Ground RB.

This was my first April fools event and saddly i didn’t enjoyed.

Wish there was a way to new players experience past events but i dont think it will happen , oh well it is what it is…

Ponies were the first april fools event ever (if you exclude war thunder itself, as the entire game of war thunder started out of an april fools tweet).

So it’s not stuck on the mobile version. I am pretty sure the assets still exist in the main game.

I agree, it just felt a bit rushed and lazy with basic reskins of existing vehicles.

Oh yeah, more grinding and, wait, what’s this? A CRAFTING EVENT?! All of it is old, and FFA was done a while back with a shambolic Fortnite style event.

i think IGN china wont agree

ok

Also considering they have complete creative freedom, doesn’t have to be realistic, doesn’t have to make sense… it’s extremely tame.

True the assets are there apart from the new assets but it would have been nice if they parodied it for both.

The event sucks dick because of its grinding system. The first day still fun. Now we are barely on hte second day, it turns into a camp feast where people who got enough parts from day-1 has an unmatched advantage over others.

Played 1 game today, what a shit show… Not gonna try any further, IT IS NOT WORTH IT!

I dont’t blame the game for not having personal time to play due to work. But I do blame the game design for when I have the time to try at night, I can no longer have fun because those who played before me has now an almost unbeatable advantage. What is worse is that those people with advantage choose to camp the shit out new comers. Again, I dont blame thses people, I blame this shit system design that forces all of us into such a situation.
