Yep, that is the exact issue and 90% of the issues at top tier could be fixed if tanks that should never see each other, didnt actually see each other every single match
It would create balance naturally. But let’s face it, they don’t want that. Idk me personally I wouldn’t be happy with my opponents all leaning leaving me with nobody to shoot at but I guess that feeling isnt a common one in today’s gamer. Sad really when you think about it. What bad comes from mixing teams? I don’t see any harm in it and only good coming from it myself. But the fact of the matter is like I said they simply don’t want any balance or even resemblance of it as they like the easy wins at the end of the day and it surely shows.
I feel like that too.
The second the US doesnt have the best everything, we get hit by a flood of “US never gets anything good” and “Russian bias” threads.
maybe l2p and go away
It shouldn’t be able to have control past 100 kph, where vertical and horizontal stabilizers are needed as the rotors have little effect beyond such speeds. If the whole tail is broken off, it should also pitch straight into the ground due to the shift in CG.
As far as I am aware, the Ka-50s can maintain a degree of control with such servere damage, though typically the pilot would be more looking to set down some where or move some where best suited to eject ( iirc they have ejection seats in the Ka-50)
The issue in War Thunder is that the Ka-50 can still engage in combat basically unaffected and that no other systems are affected by such catastrophic damage. That is where the game fails. A far more detailed damage model (hopefully coming in September), with far less empty void within the hull of the heli, should result in such hits actually being fatal, or at least bad enough to force a slow limp back to base.
There’s no real evidence of this, though. The most damaged a Ka-50 has ever been while being flyable is having a bent (but not missing) vertical stabilizer.
I thought there was actually some evidence of this. In any case, again, it is likely that such a hit enough to take out the tail, would have also caused damage to other areas, notably the engines or the pilots just ejected instead of trying to stick with the heli.
For the record. I am not a soviet player. I hate the Ka-50s as much as anyone. But in this instance, I think its like all helis where they are mostly empty, where in reality, helis are packed to the brim with kit. Too many times Ive nailed a heli with something like a Starstreak and its shrugged off the hit becasue nothing ciritcal was hit with a centre mass impact.
Self projection
The noobs hurt, but so too does this.
The Abrams model still needs work.
As for balancing new players? They need to get good, plain and simple, and some of them will never care because they like playing fast and loose or they are deliberately botting to sell accounts.
The screnshots you attached shows how 35 mm Oerlikons are broken, and can disable any tank in right pixel. It’s not that much Abrams problem, but volumetric shells are.
That’s any volumetric shell if you’re not going to include volumetric armor. But the Abrams still needs correcting.
And that’s not just Oerlikons, that’s any sub-caliber sub-40mm round.
I’ve seen clips of IS series tanks being killed by Gepards before, overpressure really messed something up about them.
I know it need some corrections, but the ‘‘volumetric’’ mechanic really needs to be overhauled first. It is that frustrating.
It shows how an MBT like the abrams can die to autocannons, like the 35mm on the Gepard.
Similar problem that the Challenger, Type 10, and Leclerc have.
I used to destroy T-72’s with M247 just holding LMB in front
Technically they can fly without the tail assembly but they sure as shit aren’t combat capable like that.
Those tails are full of equipment. There’s a reason the photos from the early war where ka’s were scuttled and the rear bays were open where the crew tried to destroy the equipment in there.
The tail isn’t there for fun, it is functional and kas being totally unbothered by its loss is just fantasy.
Has this ever been acknowledged as a suggestion by Gaijin?
I don’t even know about this to be honest, but i don’t think so
The video in question isn’t missing the “tail”. It is missing the vertical stabilizer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FWeXNeAE30
Cutting the entire tail off would cause massive issues.
