Anti-Personal Shells Infantry Discussion - Buckshot for an Tank

Anti-Personal Shells

Shrapnel and Shell Fragments

With the recent infantry testing, I’m putting forward another discussion this time focused on anti-personnel shells for armored vehicles. We already have a few examples in-game, but with infantry mode, it really opens the door to expanding this often overlooked and underappreciated type of ammunition. Instead of relying purely on high-explosive or anti-armor rounds, anti-personnel shells could give tanks a more defined role in supporting infantry by dealing with exposed troops, clearing light cover, and controlling open areas. This could include things like fragmentation rounds, canister-style shots, or proximity-based effects that emphasize spread and suppression over raw damage. The key would be balancing effectiveness against infantry without making tanks overwhelming keeping these shells situational, skill-based, and tied to proper positioning and ammo choice. Curious to hear what kinds of anti-personnel options people would want to see and how they could be implemented without overpowering infantry gameplay.

If you have examples, data, experimental shells place them in the chat!

I think these shells are kind of new. Post Cold War the idea of anti-personal ammo where back burner. Anyway Vietnam era tanks had them as the thinking for them came from WW2
