Another spaa nerf? why gaijin

I’m not fine with nuking vehicles out of hate, lol. Facts matter, and the Falcon isn’t OP at 1.3KD of all time.

And that’s something the Falcon is good at, so your KD should be better. The falcon shreds rat vehicles and other lightly armored opponents. If you’re playing as a light tank, it’s a given that even SPAA should be a threat to you.

This is a perfectly fine conclusion, but the people here aren’t really making that as their main point. It’s an emotional “I hate the Falcon” response.

Nah. Honestly, if anything is disappointing how Britain gets one of the few fun vehicles to play and do shenanigans become gimped and nerfed while there’s more annoying stuff at the same BR (Gepard and Oerlikon’s SPAA cousins).

I’m at 11.7 now, and during my GB grind, it was more than annoying how inconsistent APDS was after the WW2 era. The Falcon was a huge breath of fresh air for me to bear the grind of the tech tree at rank V/VI.

With its belt gone, I wish good luck and patience to the brave ones who decide to grind the brit tree without premiums at that BR range.

if youre playing an aluminium can of a tank like a sheridan or scimitar more than fair for SPAA to shred you.

SPAAs right now just shred literally everything though

using it as an SPAA primarily did certainly ruin my K/D in the thing lol i was also an abhorrently bad player for a long time so most of my vehicles are still tainted by it. its also not easy to get air kills when everything around you has a search and track radar with lead indication (falcon should also have this but gaijin didnt model its track radar).

no matter what being positive against tanks in an SPAA is just absurd. APHE needs a rework to do most of the work in stopping the SPAA meta. I hate how the falcon and 35mm SPAAs act

Good riddance, good to see SPAA being used for what they’re meant for.

And how much would that pen point blank vs flat plate?

Indeed, we gotta nuke the perpetual whiners sooner or later instead. Revert all the SPAAG nerfs, and state publicly that its in response to complaints about the Falcon. Threaten to buff it more the more they scream.

Exactly. The problems of the Falcon are mostly not even due to the thing itself. APHE stupidity isn’t unique to the Falcon. City maps enable it to get close enough to aim at cupolas. Being expected to move to be in a good spot to shoot planes but be punished if you dare to shoot a tank or few in order to secure that spot is an impossible paradox.

Except if you bother paying attention to how people actually use their SPAAG, you’d realize you’re shooting yourself in the foot.

Nerfing their AT ability does not make people suddenly go “use them correctly for AA duty.” Instead they either 1) use it poorly by sitting in their own spawn due to perceiving themselves as defenseless or 2) they drop it from their lineups and don’t use it at all.

Either way, you fuck yourself by insisting that only SPAA get bound to what their role says they “should” do, and I laugh.

The same people complaining about the Falcon also voted against even testing the APHE nerf. Hence why I say pull a fast one on the whiners and buff the Falcon instead, just to spite the people complaining about it.

I want to see them suffer for all the damage their refusal to adapt has caused to the game over the years.

APHE crutch mains and youtube brigades are why general player polls wont ever work.

I like spiting players, especially certain ones here who whine about the fox still. but intentionally hurting the game more to spite them is not how to do it.

taking their crutches away + allowing nations of better players to have fairly matched tanks (keep chieftain mk10/900 at 9.0) to sealclub in is how we do it

So this is player skill issue.

And another skill issue for players either trying to rush to top tier or don’t want to learn how to use the falcon.

Ok keep laughing, I don’t know why you’re pessimistic about this change… This will make players see they can’t farm ground kills so they will switch to learning how to lead an air target. If they drop it, well that’s even better as I get to see more tank against tank combat.

Im for removing apds from alot of spaa, its turning ground into run around the map and hold left mouse button, no skill required. I wished autocannon spaa was restricted to air rounds so they can actually do their own role.

I don’t see rebuffing SPAAGs as harming the game though. It’s long overdue to make them normalize SPAAG killing tanks. And if they don’t like it? Tough shit, cry yourself to sleep, grow a set, and DEAL WITH IT.

SPAAG are encouraged to hunt tanks for many reasons. APHE overperformance. City clusterfuck maps. Air kills not paying enough. Old plate-based armor models being full of exploitable holes/seams/gaps. Server overload enabling glitching rounds through if you shoot them fast enough. I could go on and on here.

Nerfing SPAAG does not address any of the reasons people use them against tanks. It should be clear that with the popularity of IFVs, people want to shred tanks with autocannons, so why even bother trying to “contain” them? It looks like such a blatant double standard to encourage IFVs yet punish SPAAG when both use autocannons of similar (or in some cases identical) design with similar or identical rounds.

because the other option was shut down by morons. its the best we can hope for

Because you, calling to nerf SPAAGs, are only hurting yourself in the process due to how players behave using SPAAGs which they perceive as “too weak to move beyond spawn.”

You’re making yourself more vulnerable to CAS, not less like you think you are by “making AA do AA duty.”

THAT is why I laugh at you, and every other whiner who has gotten any AA nerfed.

Then you just up and flip the table on them one day and tell them to deal with it, responses will intentionally go unanswered. No differently than how many vehicle additions have happened over the years that fuck up whole BR ranges (currently the T58 and BMPT).

10:1 ground to air kill ratio. It’s better to see it get less ground kills and more air kills. At 8.3-9.3 spaa is more of a problem than cas. If people just learned how to use 8.3 spaa right, then cas would be even less of a problem.

That is kind of naïve, to be honest. There’s no use on using the Falcon and actually learn to aim and lead when there’s alternatives at either the same BR (Chieftain Marksman) and +0.4 above (ZA-35), both with radar lock.

I believe Britain’s tanks in between 7.7-8.7 are somewhat mediocre to even contemplate using them thoroughly. Your solution only leads to move on from the Falcon and probably the tech tree at that range, not replacing it with actual good vehicles within that BR range.

That I can agree on, but let’s not pretend Gaijin’s isn’t cutting by the weakest link right now by removing the most niche 30mm APDS belt, which is bs when the most spammed SPAA systems at that range are the Oerlikon-based AAs (XM-246/Gepard/Chieftain-Leopard Marksman/ZA-35/Type 87).

im still happy to see gaijin taking one step at all to fixing spaa. Should the falcon be first, idk. It’s still a step in the right direction.

As long as the Oerlikon gang (XM-246/Gepard/Chieftain-Leopard Marksman/ZA-35/Type 87) have APDS, the problem is nowhere near solved.

Removing one belt from one type of SPAA cannons and calling it a step in the right direction is just not true, it doesn’t fix anything noticeably. They just made brits and french eat the L, probably from players performance.

You’ll still find six other vehicles on five nations ready to roll every game. Being happy about this… is questionable.

THEY.
AREN’T.
GOING.
TO.

How many more nerfs to SPAAG’s AT ability will it take for folk like yourself to actually understand this?

Current gameplay does not encourage them to go kill planes. There aren’t enough planes to go around for several AA. The planes you do kill pay garbage compared to tank kills. You’re expected to move outside your own spawn to set up a nice campy spot to ambush planes - but to reach, let alone secure such spots you need to kill tanks. City maps enable AA to get within spitting distance to where they can shred tanks easily. APHE overperformance was voted against correcting by many of the same people who are now crusading against the Falcon. And non-radar AA require lobotomized pilots to score kills, due to how planes unequally benefit from Mouse Aim and 3rd Person Camera compared to AA. AA also lack the numbers advantage they often had in real engagements, where several AA coordinated fire against individual planes.
