Another patch, another CN tree nerf. When does this stop?

So Gaijin just dropped another “adjustment” on J10C, and this time they claim it’s according to the real manual. Cool. I guess that’s where the “realistic” in “realistic competitive battles” comes from—you know, the one they put in their own description: “In War Thunder, aircraft, attack helicopters, ground forces and naval vessels collaborate in realistic competitive battles.
Let’s see what they did to Chinese techtree recently.
First and most inportant, they SIGNIFICANTLY nerfed PL12 about 60% with zero documented justification. No source, no explanation, just a big nerf.
Then J15T, they mentioned in the pre-dev livestream they were considering buffing it to 96 small-caliber countermeasures. Never happened. And they could’ve done what they did with MiG-21SMT—when you mount the ECM pod, it counts as countermeasures. But J15T gets neither. No 96 small-caliber, no pod-as-countermeasure, no large-caliber buff. Nothing.
Next is JH-7A2, an updated aircraft that literally debuted in 2022 at BR 12.3 can still only carrying old narrow-band YJ91 but not YJ-91A which was been around since 2007 who has broad-spectrum passive radar seeker. Meanwhile Italy gets Tornado IDS MLU at BR11.7 gets AGM-88A, USSR Su-39 at BR11.3 gets Kh-25MPU. A 2022 plane at 12.3 can’t carry its own anti-radiation missile? Make it make sense.

And don’t even get me started on the Rafale. Either its current flight model is a massive buff with no basis in reality, or the real Rafale was designed to fly like a UFO.

There are so many those kinds of things Gaijin did to most of the techtree (like the newest plane US got is still from 2005) other than USSR, but recently the China tech tree has been taking the biggest hit by far.

This is not a bug report. It’s me asking: am I the only one seeing this pattern? Or are we all just used to it by now?

Because its a countermeasures pod

well actually its an ECM pod with built in countermeasures, the deployable flares and chaff are technically a secondary function.

Well the CM in ECM stands for countermeasures as well, its a countermeasures pod with electronic and deployable countermeasures

the CM in ECM isn’t to be taken out of context, the whole “ECM” stands for “electronic countermeasure”.

its an ECM pod with built in conventional CMs

Its a countermeasures pod with built in ECM and dispensers. Its not one or the other, its equally both.

So 60% nerf on your best missle is 1%, I got it

its an ECM pod first and foremost, the dispensers are secondary.

hell i’m pretty sure the dispensers are an afterthought, i’m 80% sure it started out without dispensers

There’s a lot of different models of countermeasure pods used by the USSR, this model started with both ECM and dispensers

Are you one of those people who only complain when problems hit close to home? china.

We do know that the J-15T should be worse in some aspects than it is rn right?

the SPS-141, specific model unknown, the pod featured in warthunder, is a continuation of older models of the same pod, which didn’t feature countermeasure dispensers.

no, the pod as a whole didn’t start with both electronic warfare and dispensable countermeasures, it started out solely with ECM. the SPS-141 only got dispensers added to it later down the line

So to make some things clear about the 15T:
1- the 15T has never mounted any ECM or CM pods
2. the 48 large CM´s are inherited from the Ukr protoype SU-33
3. the dual pylons on the 15T are unrealistic
4. so are the engines as the WS-10B´s arent navalised (should be a name change to WS-10H as it did test them)
5. the internal ECM and RWR are unknown so dont speculate on it

internal ECM is a samsung microwave oven and the RWR is my old headphones acting as a radio antenna, trust me on this

Your entire post contains one singular nerf.
JH-7A is 12.0 in ground.
JH-7A2 has AMRAAMs available to it, thus is a false equivalence to compare it to aircraft that are worse in flight performance & lack AMRAAMs.
JH-7A2 also has CM-102 anti-rad missiles…

There has been no nerfs to J-10’s flight performance: A g-limit change is not inherently a nerf, the aircraft still pulls 9 - 12+ Gs.

J-15T’s awful countermeasure count is the manufacturer’s fault, no one else’s, and it started that way.
Give it time and there will be J-16s soon enough. J-20/J-35 are around the corner too.

PL-12’s nerf I still don’t believe was anything other than an unintended mistake when changing its parameters for something else. It should be fixed if it’s incorrect. I believe it’s incorrect, but I can’t prove it.

The newest plane in USA is the 2026 F-15C GE. It’s using the 2026 configuration with MRMLs.
Not 2005.

overall the treatment of the J-15T has been pretty favorable lol, if we exclude the fact it shouldnt use PL-8B´s and PL-12´s (and the PL-12A being kinda a grey zone missile)

Not particularly, the SPS-141 is missing its full name, its one specific model from a group of very different, incompatible pods that used the same prefix, but where largely separate anyway. Different frequencies and strengths for different planes.

This model is the MiG-21 model, others using the same prefix were for the Su-17/22’s, but not interchangeable. And this particular model started with both dispensers and ECM.

This is getting way off topic anyway, point is, its a countermeasures pod, that’s why it has countermeasures

so the J-15T is just fictional?
