but wouldn’t the force fo the shockwave that is strong enough to crack armour be enough to mince the crew? especially on thinly armoured hulls, were the armour would more tear/dent like tin foil than crack like a full thickness armour plate?
i can understand it not overpressuring a 50mm RHA plate but a 25mm aluminium plate?
probabally only something a simulation / real world testing can find out for certain
I’m agreeing with you. It’s crap the effectiveness that’s been constantly removed from HESH since it’s introduction. It’s never worked anything like reality.
HESH actually gets more effective with thicker armour and the larger the patt formed. This is why these guns should never struggle against the thickest armour of King tigers and is4 etc. These are ideal targets for hesh
Well if you don’t agree go bug report ,… yet HESH do works in game.
Less then 50% of the time as your own tests prove. Wow how efficient.

Seems you still do not know what the 48% is about, so to recall everyone.
25 shots were made, and results shows the following:
4% bounces
12% ineffective
16% going for yellow-red modules
20% going to kill/destroyed some of the crews and modules
48% of instant one shot
So to be fair, you should say that 68% of the time the HESH is able to deal serious damage to an ennemy.
And that’s, what you can need to kill someone.
And about the AVRE gun, i’ve ended up with 100% oneshot kill.
If you have trouble with the HESH, it might coming from how you use it.
I’m also pretty convinced that with trainning and Weakspot knowledge, i could largely increase those results.

If you put that one example aside that’s 7 out of 20 shots killed. An impressive 35% kill rate if your not using the rare premium tanks with the L9.
As I already stated 36% failed to prevent the enemy shooting back.
Your own stats show the ammunition chance vs peer tanks from all non premium L9 has a 35% chance of killing the enemy and additionally 60% completely failed to prevent the enemy from from shooting back
Almost twice the chance you fail vs killing super effective gun using any gun other then the premium tanks.

Currently i have a 68 % damaging round.
Not based on your own stat’s it’s not. Especially if you don’t have the premium tank it’s a 35% chance of a kill, 60% chance you don’t stop the enemy shooting back immediately

only one of the crits potentially prevented the enemy returning fire by knocking out a turret drive. if you dont have the premium your chances drop from 48% to 35%. based on your own provided information. in perfect conditions (test drive) stock enemy crews, no moving enemy, you choose the amgle you attack and no one is returning fire.
You’re the one telling how impossible it is to get kills with AVRE HESH rounds, yet you’re denying the AVRE Hesh results i gave you,… maybe someone need to learn how to use properly the round.
ive never made a specific comment on the avre hesh round. I specified its results are the exception in your test because they far exceed the results of the other hesh rounds. I also seperated them because their a premium shell most people dont have so not the average players experience or even an option to use. putting that one single gun aside the stats drop from less the 50% to 35% kill rate. how is 35 or EVEN 48% acceptable in the most perfect of conditions?

Ah yes,the great so awesome AVRE HESH, where the T-55s fuel tank full of ammo does absolutely nothing. Second shot into driver, no damage again except dead driver, i would be dead already.
Clearly not well. It was bad from every other tank except the AVRE. 35% against stock tesbed tanks is not a good munition.

No, your crit shot results didn’t make the enemy combat Ineffective. Not a single barrel, breach or gunner was destroyed except for your knock outs meaning the enemy can immediately shoot back.
Excuse me?? The last two show the breech out. Plus either a gunner or a turret drive.
