F-14D should get AMRAAMs, Theirs plenty of evidence that the F-14D can be compatible with AIM-120A if not for the software update that was denied in for the favor of more CAS capabilities and funding issues but it shouldn’t deny AMRAAMS for the f14D. As it’s know AMRAAMs was tested on the NF-14A-GR but this should still cont for the F-14D to get it as experimental weapons as F-14A Airframe is the same as the F-14D as the F14A can be remanufactured into a F14D (R) not to mention that the F14D was designed to be more modern capable for the 21st century it has the mil std bus, mission computer, digital wiring, Mrl, and radar for modern armaments but many armaments didn’t get funding one of them being “TO ADD THE REST OF the capabilities for AMRAAMs” to the f14D but many if not all the tech is still found on the f14D for amraam capabilities and some documents even saying that the f14D will have capability to use aim-120A against multiple target if not for the missing remaining capability for Amraams many vehicles in game don’t have the full capability for armaments they use but still get to use the full capabilities some even recently added as a production aircraft and has missiles it didn’t even use as experimental or in service.
Especially since theirs other vehicles in game with weapons they didn’t use during service or even in testing and gajin doesn’t have plans on adding another F-14D aircraft for quite some time
why not both? why just the premium one? premiums should never be unique in that they are better than any tech tree equivalent, only that they are unique in nature.
Not everybody wants to get AMRAAMs on it so theirs still an option for one at 13.0 without AMRAAMs and another at 13.7 with AMRAAMs. Some people think it would make the price tags more reasonable than it being the other way around and if aim-7p-2 ever get add it won’t be locked behind a pay wall
Edit: also I think it would depend on who you ask what’s better plane to use like the f2a adtw/f2a
It’s not the same thing last one was about the tech tree getting aim-120 but their already a F-14D(R) w/aim-120A suggestion thread that will probably have to wait another decade to get
Doesn’t matter this isn’t dcs it’s war thunder where it can receive them if theirs enough demand for it

Yes. It would go, since IRIAF went on 13.7 , with avionics from early model, what you think would happen on D version, on better radar, engines, CM count etc etc. It wouldnt be 13.0 anymore.

I would actually be fine with it going to 13.7 especially since a lot of us want decompression also the apg71 is very great radar, F14D can be capable of dogfighting , and theirs bol pods witch can be helpful at times
On current state , when it would be 14.0 I bet you wouldnt be so fine on it.
Even IRIAF going on 13,7 was wild move , and looking at market place prize, when it has lost 50% of value in few months, no wonder…
It wouldn’t go to 14.0 witch I already encountered multiple times anyways so unless it’s a up tier. right now it could go to 13.3 but for decompression sake 13.7 being the max br
It’s only gimmick is the F-90 so no surprise their
Unlike the f14D it has f110 engine, apg71 radar,BOL pods,is a capable dog fighter (compare able to the f16A ADF), an irst
A f-14D w/Aim-120A would sell like hot cakes
With AMRAAMs ? If you count F-15E at 14.0 , it should be like that.
But if you count the premium Su-30s currently at 13.3…
And both of them more capable in A-G for NE mode (which the ARB BR is shared) …
There is just no reason for it to be more than 13.7 like…ever…
At best it should be same BR as premium 30s, as even if 14D would have better radar, the 30s are just more capable A-G (big thing in NE).
I don’t understand the mentality of just slapping AIM-120A into it would make it suddenly 14.0 or even 13.7 when more capable or just as capable as it would be play lower…
13.7 is F-15C MSIP with more AMRAAMs available and JDAM-ER and SDBs in the same TT.
