Can you guys please fix the amphibious vehicles in the game like the BMP two or the Strella? Or even just fixed the water physics because I highly doubt a 70 ton tank would be bobbing up and down in the water like a fishing bob. Can’t even use some bodies of water to try to flank without drowning in my BMP2
It’s so goofy that tanks have 0 effect on waves and ripples.
Yeah, it would sink straight to the bottom like it does in game (xD)
I just went in the water today with my Italian AUBL/74 HVG and OMG you are right. The amphibious vehicles are SO bouncy, even in calm water. I could barely keep it going in a straight line, and even less try and shoot anything. Even though it has a fully stabilized cannon.
I do not remember the amphibious vehicles being so bouncy like this before. Imo, this is a bug/glitch, though I do not know at what point/which patch this started happening.
Does anyone know if there is an existing bug report for this? I am going to check really quick, but please post a link if anyone already knows of one. Thanks!
Ok, I think this is the most recent AND open ticket:

@侍KAMIKAZE侍 do you have any updates/extra info to add? I clicked “I have the same issue” on this report. I will see if I can get a video replay to add to your report, though I had issues trying capture a video before with my Nvidia app. Will see if it works later today. (I added a new comment to this report to try and bring more attention to it.)
Older report from KAMIKAZE as well:

Older-er report from a different user:

This happen because, I believe at least, that water in War Thunder isn’t a fluid you can interact with but rather and static mesh with constant animation.
Nope they are still unusable in water.
They deny my mighty land battleship Ijn Ka-chi its purpose !

How shamefull
The only and I mean ONLY map where a tank can swim without performing 16G manouvers due to waves the size of sparrow’s turd is Kuban, with it’s flank lake near A. I tried on my Ka-Mi tank and managed to have a smooth ride.
But gaijin doesn’t care about amphibious vehicles, they don’t even tell you they can swim, they lowered the river lever on eastern Europe to “facilitate” it’s traverse but only made it so tanks can no longer get out and of course the “waves” are still there

Do you waant … do you waant to go to my river, bouncy bouncy ??
with the neweset major update “tusk force” they reworked eastern europe and poland. amphibious vehicles are actually usable there, they completly fixed the bouncing of vehicles. before the major update “tusk force” i remember them being equally as bouncy as on any other map. so maybe with the new upcoming major updates they are gonna rework other maps and fix the water aswell
I didn’t notice much improvement (if any) while testing it myself with an LVT. But it’s probably just because they changed the water conditions on those two maps. It still bobs around as if it wasn’t a 16+ ton vehicle, and it’s like a rubber duck in a bathtub.
But it’s not like it really matters, at least on the Poland map, since there isn’t really any strategic purpose to cross the lake in the first place.
What is the Ka-Chi? I cant seem to find it in tech tree or marketplace.
You mean the Ka-Mi?
Ah yes, I thought that was what it was!
I cant find on the marketplace but I remember seeing this as an event vehicle and wanted it but was not able to get it for some reason, cant remember.
Shame I cant get it :( Looks mega fun
Yeah, its a shame really. I took great struggles to obtain it. Imo it should have been regular TT vehicle after Ka-mi and not event that dont even have cupons. And type 5 To-ku as premium / event insted.
I wonder if you could fit an L3 ontop lol
It can. But it will fall off when you are in water. Trust me I tried. Amphibious physic of all amphibious vehicles is so ass ngl.
I wish they’d make like Wake Island a map with spawnable boats to go cap the island, or some other naval map with option to make beachheads.
Then there’d be a reason to fix something if it arose as such.
