AMMO BOXES & BUILDING Before Christmas

About 24 hours ago, a video from the dev server revealed that SPAA and other will have buildable ammo boxes and new building mechanics. However, a couple of months ago, players voted 50/50, showing they either don’t want this feature or aren’t sure yet. Despite this, Gaijin is pushing it through by force. What are your thoughts on this? Imagine this: a FLAKRAD 3m missile coming from a box smaller than a VW Golf wheel—very realistic.

I think it is an awesome change, because it’ll allow SPAA and TDs to re-arm safely.

Mate it was 50/50. 50% of people wanted it and 50% didn’t.
If the Community cannot choose then Gaijin is gonna.

Model issues, like the ammo crates being tiny, are things that can be improved. Made even vehicle specific in the future. As a mechanic its awesome.

Great, allows SPAA to think they have a remote chance.

that’s just a model issue, but in my opinion it doesn’t matter much, it still symbolizes that you can re arm there so it’s fine.

Solution: Make the box bigger.

So, would you prefer a new tank class be created in the game? One with limited self-defense but focused on supporting allies by providing ammunition, rather than just pressing a button to help AAs reload their missiles when all the capture points are under enemy control ?

I fully support the implementation of ammo boxes for vehicles; they’re important because, many times, all the capture points are controlled by enemies, making it impossible for vehicles with limited ammunition/missiles to stay in the fight. Another way to make this more “acceptable” would be to turn your map spawn point into a resupply location, just like the flag capture points. This would make sense since that’s your base of operations, so it would logically have supplies to refuel any type of ground vehicle.

You are trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill. Do you even understand how this ammo crate is going to work? It works just like crew replenishment. You get a single use and one reload, so its not a mobile armory that constantly resupply.

Your whole " doing it by force " is completely laughable when as to your own words half the community voted for this change. This is gaijins game not your game. In the end they felt enough people wanted to see this change and they could add this mechanic to the game that would be a net positive for the community. Trying to get your 15 minutes of fame by using trigger words to try to get people worked up over something so trivial.

WT is based of of real stats but it is not a 1 to 1 comparison to the real world due to game balance. You know what else isnt realistic? repairing you barrel in 30 seconds after it being shot, or repairing any part of your tank in 5 to 40 seconds when it would take days if not weeks to get repaired. so unless you are wanting war thunder to change repair time to realistic times stop with complaining about realism.

My only concern is for SPAA like the falcon where the ammo box is not so much a tool to help back-line units stay in a safe zone and will in practice be more like a resupply station for a light tank camping your spawn.

I think they should consider the ammo box equipment on a case-by-case level and not offer it for SPAA that already have ample front-line potential.

Imagine what would happen to helicopters, which are already tough to grind, and slower, less maneuverable planes. If SPAA had twice the usual ammo, planes and helicopters would be doomed. It’s already challenging enough to grind helicopters—imagine how much harder it would be with extra ammo boxes in play.

its needed for certain things

50/50 isn’t a definite yes first of all.

Like I said before, think beyond yourself. Consider the impact on planes, the challenges of grinding helicopters, teamwork dynamics, and map design. Think about how it will affect the bigger picture, not just your own experience.
So yeah, let’s add paratroopers, tsunamis, and other stuff like it’s Fortnite.

Seems like you’ve forgotten what game you’re playing. To quote:
‘In War Thunder, aircraft, attack helicopters, ground forces, and naval ships collaborate in realistic competitive battles.’

Stop complaining and think about the bigger picture—not just about racking up kills with a full load of ammo. You’re not the main hero here to take out all the tanks, planes, or helicopters. Do your part as a team member to help secure the win. If you’re after massive kill counts, try Arcade mode or something similar.

Every 3-4 months, there’s a BR change based on community engagement. For example, let’s say you add an ammo box to the Falcon. Then, after 3-4 months, the BR is lowered, making it overpowered—and it still has the extra ammo. Why create another complicated solution that requires ongoing maintenance when the issue could be fixed another way?

LMAO ok captain try hard… Its realistic not real life simulation. You are out here trying to be the main character thinking they going to save a video game from video gaming… 50/50 isnt a yes or a no in case you forgot that, but since this game is the property of Gaijin they can do what ever they like with it as they have the final say. The ammo boxes are single use and wont have a huge impact but will help the spaa’s with limited ammo be able to be useful longer.

You are the only one here complaining kid, and you tell me to stop thinking with my experience… how do you think people fore opinion on anything? everyone’s ( heres a shocker even yours ) opinions are based off experience. At no point did i say anything about kill count. It really sounds to be like you are a low skilled player that goes after the easy targets, and whats easier than an spaa with no ammo and your trying to save your game play.

This is just compete nonsense. Ammo box for a singe refill for select spaa’s is not going to break the game.

If they keep adding features that require extra maintenance, other necessary fixes will be delayed or deprioritized. For instance, because of these changes, the Polish tech tree has already been delayed by at least half a year. Take ammo boxes as another example—if they add them and later lower the BR, that vehicle could become overpowered. The Gepard, with its 600 rounds, can already eliminate most tanks in RB with just 40 rounds; imagine if it had 1200 rounds—that would be excessive. And if you can’t secure a kill in 2-3 shots, that’s likely a skill issue; more ammo won’t solve that.

To address the comment about ‘complaining kids’: I’ve been playing since 2013, probably longer than you, and I see more important issues to address than adding unnecessary features. Think about how you’d feel if you were constantly shot down in a plane or helicopter because of these changes. I’m sure that would lead to posts demanding nerfs.

Let’s keep the discussion factual. If you believe certain vehicles need more ammo, explain why—but if a vehicle already has over 200 bullets, 4 rockets, or similar, let’s agree it’s more of a skill issue than a need for extra ammo.

I agree, I was just trying to come up with a solution to the problem I perceived without simply saying “get rid of it”.

Any vote is the illusion of choice around here.
