Tried it out in the test drive, and it’s OK - the 37mm’s look like a great improvement, but they have a pretty big flaw - ALL their ammo is in the turret base, which is totally exposed above deck and has no armour -
One hit there and it’s all gone!!
Yeah, all my praising for its final addition & then we see this… Surely it wasn’t like that?
I know Navweaps isn’t an accepted source (better than using my old 1990’s Jane’s books or spouting wiki) yet there’s a diagram on there that shows the mount & ammunition feeding elevators, yet it doesn’t look like there’s a magazine where it’s shown in game as the diagram is just empty space under the mount & the elevator going further.
Logically imho the devs care little for ammunition placement for secondary armament as seen on a few ships already, but surely they could’ve put those shells somewhere else.
As in that placements are not accurate?
On other botex the Chikugo’s ammo racks are placed suspiciously high.
High possibility of accurate modelling as it was not originally installed on Amiens when she was designed, nor did installed as serious re-armament(it was for testing issue of 37mm/70, which was prototype)
Similar fits to Chickugo also as it’s more of anti submarine frigate, and cold war 3’'(especially twin) has high mount above all JMSDF ships
